Super sharp, thin cuts
I build scale models and table top wargaming figures, this was an upgrade purchase from my generic side cutters and I love them. Very sharp and thin, so it cuts parts away from sprues without bending or stressing the plastic. Totally worth the cost.

Great product and value
My son uses these regularly and says that they have worked really well for building models.

Awesome sprue snips
These work great for snipping out parts from its sprue, and that’s what they are made for. I would not use them to cut the sprue tree itself, you’ll ruin them. These are flat side cutters that are a perfect size for getting in close to the part and snipping its the connection to the sprue. If you use them for other things, like cutting wire, and they get dull or break, that’s on you. Sometimes I want to cut the sprue itself into sections for spraying different colors and/or primer. I use a heavier duty pair of cutters for that. And for the lighting work I use small wire cutters. Use tools for what they are made for, the right tool for the right job and your work will go smoothly.

Sharp and Precise.
Perfect for what they are made for. Very sharp and precise. Excellent for removing parts and sprue from plastic model parts. In my opinion they are worth the extra for the Tamiya name brand.

Small but very nice quality.
These were a bit spendy but pretty nice to use once you get used to the small size. They are very sharp and the cutting edges come together nicely. I expected the tip of the cutter to be pointed but it's squared off. I'd like them to be a bit bigger but once you get used to the small size they work very nicely and cut sprue very cleanly. Recommended.

Great improvement over my old Xuron pair
I upgraded to this Tamiya nipper from a pair of Xurons I've been using since the fall of the roman empire, and this tool is a huge improvement in my opinion. The weight feels really nice in your hand, and the clipping motion has a really nice feel to it. I know that sounds really vague and subjective, but comparing the two right after one another really shows how nice this nipper is. Not to mention the blades are incredibly sharp, and I can get an almost perfectly clear cut by trimming a little bit away from the piece to begin with, and then snipping off the remaining nub flush to the body of the piece. That leaves no white stress marks on the piece, and also gives a wonderfully smooth and level finish. In short, this tool eliminates most of the work I would be doing with a hobby knife to clean up nubs, and the results are more consistent and clean than what I would achieve with my knife (no more accidental cuts into the piece itself!). Highly recommended on sale!

Best snips I've ever used.
Fantastic for modeling. Up to this point, the best snips I'd used were the early version of the current GW ones. Since then, the quality has degraded and it's impossible to find any two pairs that are alike. These things though, these are gorgeous. Thinner than the GW ones, so the cut is very smooth. Be warned though, these are really for cutting small sprue. I wouldn't risk dulling the edge on resin or anything like that.I'll update the next time I have to buy a pair to record whether the quality is consistent between pairs.
