Reliable and Works Perfectly
What I like about old technogy is the price. It works wonderfully but People always what something new.

Dura Ace 7 speed compatible
My old 1989 classic Schwinn Paramount build has nice Dura Ace 7401 7-speed shifting but you can’t get unused Dura Ace 7 speed obsolete cassette cogs and the 13-24 cassette was geared too high with my 52-42T Nuevo Record crank. A new 126mm rear wheel and this 14-28T freewheel shift perfectly with compatible 7 speed cog spacing and Uniglide shift ramps and lowered the gearing just as I wanted. I even exceeded the recommended 26T cog max and it still works great if the chain length is right. Nice smooth and fairly quiet pawl coasting noise. A Shimano-compatible Sunrace 7 speed 14-28T freewheel that I bought new at a bike shop for a quick fix shifted just as well but had a very slight wobble on coasting and had the small cog only a 1/4” from the dropout, so the genuine Shimano item seems a bit more precise. You’ll need a freewheel tool for removal. I also use the tool on installation because I make sure the freewheel turns on the hub threads smoothly clockwise and counterclockwise at the start to prevent cross-threading and trashing the hub threads (a big pitfall for home mechanics not familiar with old style freewheels).

Affordable and easy to replace
This is the second one I've gotten in 5 years / 3 chain replacements so it either shows that I'm not changing my chains enough or I'm riding a lot. To be fair, my chains all had .75% wear for a while instead of me replacing them when they first got .75% wear. I got some bad information I guess so replace your chain right when it gets to .75% wear.

Shimano quality
Good quality freewheel, decent gear range, jumps between gears not too large considering.

Perfect fit for my Walmart Hyper Spinfit 700c
I had to replace my freewheel after the original fell apart. I found it was cheaper to replace it than try to repair the old one. I'd never replaced one before, but with the help of YouTube and a freewheel lock ring removal tool (NOT the cassette tool; mandatory but inexpensive) I was able to get the old freewheel off the hub and install this new one without too much trouble (and all for less than $30). Clicks in reverse and operates exactly as it should. Very pleased for now, time will tell if it holds up.
