I have read many thermodynamics textbook but this one is the best for understanding the concepts. I always had a hard time understanding the concepts of thermodynamics but this book explains it in such an elegant and logical way that even a below standard student like me can understand. Great Book in all aspects.

This is an excellent book on the subject of thermodynamics. All the concepts are explained in the most lucid manner. While reading the book, it appears that the authors are talking to the reader. Problems at the end of the chapters will make the reader to apply the concepts learned and to apply his mind. Problems are conceptual as well as detailed for which EES (Engineering Equation Solver) given alongwith the book will be used. A must for every mechanical and chemical engineer and all those who are interested in the subject of thermodynamics.Paper and print quality both are excellent. However, the book is the 4th edition (2002) and that may be the reason that even though the print and paper quality are excellent, the cost is reasonable.

This book helps those who are preparing for exams like GATE, ESE, PSU. very easy language super easy to understand and very detailed explanation are there for everything.

Best book for B.Tech Mechanical Engineering Thermodynamics, 150+ Problems (includes conceptual, numerical and objective type and design & essay type) at the end of every chapter, teacher recommended this for GATE and other competitive exams and ultimately for understanding thermodynamics.

Well organized and precise. But there is one problem with this book. Forget about the solutions, you can't even find the answers to the exercise questions. In the official website, solutions are available only for instructors. Most of the third party sites which contain the solutions will ask for money. The solution manual for the international version has a different set of questions, and only a few questions from this Indian version are available there. I don't understand the point of not providing the answers to the exercises. How can we check the answers after working out?
