Fantastic IR blaster radius, easy to setup and use. Supports literally everything infrared.
The media could not be loaded. I bought this to add to my home automation system with Alexa to control my air conditioner until for both heat and thecooling features. It was super quick and easy to set up using the TuyaSmart app, connected to my WiFi straight away and I was ready to set up my air conditioner. When you select to add a new device, you are presented with so many device types which then go on to display a massive database of supported brands which you can chose to match your device. Then it goes through the most common devices for you try by powering them on and off, and trying other functions like heat/cool modes for AC, or volume for TV etc until you find the correct one.Once fully set up, you can position is almost anywhere and it will control the device by IR as it has several infrared transmitters inside pointed at different directions. So you could almost hide it somewhere and it will still control your device. The TuyaSmart app integrates with Alexa just fine. You can say “Alexa, turn the AC on” and it will come on, and the same. for powering it off, and you can also change the set temperature via your voice.>>>>This is where I dropped off two stars off. As for my air conditioner in the Alexa app it only gives you the option. To power it on and off, and change the temperature. You can’t change the mode from cooling to heating, or change the fan speed. It will just power the AC unit back on to what it was previously set to (heat/cool & fan speed) despite changing the temperature up and down. That’s my only issue with this device. The picture I’ve uploaded with this review shows the very limited options in the Alexa app.If this review was helpful, please could you click the “helpful” button below.

Fast delivery, not fully functional
The deivce was easy to configure, operates well with main functions. It is not apparant what lets it down, the device itself or the compatibility with Alexa. The device works my Sony TV and Humax digital set top box player & recorder and my Samsung Blue Ray player via the FurLife app, but it seems Alexa does not cater for DVD/Blue Ray devices. Also, some of the TV functions via Alexa do not work such as changing the TV input source. The functions that do work are sufficient to keep the device as I suspect the deficiencis are caused by Alexa.

It works but the APP and the hook into Alexa are not great.
I could not add a sky box or a DVD to the Tuyasmart APP that it would feed through to Alexa. I had to add the DVD as a set top box to get it recognized and that meant I had to program each of the buttons rather than using the APPs already programmed setup. It does work, sitting about 12 feet from the devises with line of sight I have had no issues with the controls.

Took a bit of fiddling to work, but so happy for the price. 'Alexa start the hoover!'
I bought this specifically so I could control my new robotic hoover which was not 'smart' or Alexa compatible (see my other reviews if you wish to know which one). The device felt a little light and cheap, but I know what goes into such a thing and it really isn't hard or complicated so I wasn't worried. The initial setup wasn't working... the reset wasn't doing its job. I changed from the supplied cable and noticed the indicator LED was brighter and now the setup worked! I suspect the supplied cable was poor quality and not supplying the juice!Once setup it learned my hoover buttons instantly. I now needed to get Alexa connected, this wasn't as straight forward as hoped, but I got there in the end and it now works. Why wasn't it easy - well the app has inbuilt templates for loads and loads of devices. I was seriously impressed by the number of pre-programmed controllers it has. However it didn't have my hoover (or any hoover at the time of reviewing). There is however a DIY section where it will learn your controller. This part was easy to use and learned my remote in seconds.I then needed Alexa to recognize this remote. In-built templates immediately appear in Alex skills (once you have added the Tuya skill set). But the DIY remote didn't show up. Instead what I had to do was create an automated 'Tap to run' sequence' this then showed up in the 'Scenes' section of the skills list in Alexa. I named my Scene 'Hoover' and I was then able to say 'Alexa start the hoover'. You might need to exit Alexa and give it time to synchronise the scene... just be patient.Once you understand the method its brilliant!!! This has added so much value to my robot hoover and I have also added my TV so I can control that also.Really happy with this purchase and for the price I cannot complain at all!!

Not as impressive as it appears
When you actually try to use this, many of the pre-programmed "remotes" are nothing but empty templates expecting you to do all of the work to get it set up.Getting it set up to work with Alexa is not easy: it's possible, but to make it do anything useful you need to laboriously programme each step at a time.. step.. by.. step.Sure, it works as an IR blaster and has good range and things do get to be operated by it. But the setup will take literally hours to do, and that's once you've worked out how.If it came with all the pre-bundled device remotes it promised, it'd be great. It doesn't, so it isn't.

Works well with Alexa.
Works very well with Alexa. The pre-defined controller templates cover most of the common units (TVs, STBs, Air Conditioning etc) but not for instance Sky Q..though you can quickly define your own controllers based on templates (like Set Top Box, TV etc) and create a new one in the 'DIY' section of the Tuya App, which I did for Sky Q.That then works perfectly with Alexa. Instructions could be a lot better (couldn't they always) but it works well and for £15 it's very good value.

Disappointed- not sure what I wanted for the price ;)
I have bought it for alleged integration with Google Home and have to say, it's a little bit of a joke. Google home sees it as a switch so all you can do by voice is to turn it on/off. That's for AI bit. In dedicated app you can set up automation and one tap actions but without proper Google integration it is defeating the object. And it's easier to use actual remote then the app. I will go for something more expensive, but with more functionality.
