Awesome!
No one better than Mitch Rapp. He is the ultimate super-hero! A thrilling, super action filled book. The characters are fascinating, and the story is incredible.

great read
I just bought the series as I just finished the reacher series and Alex Mason series. This is a must read series and I only read book 1.A little long but the author had to create all the side stories and fighting between depts.Well done with the epilogue as I was a little disappointed as to the end of final chapter but then a final awesome scene…

My First Flynn Novel and it was....
The Good: Flynn writes solid stories. He is well embedded in this type of narrative and he seems to have a firm grasp of what he's doing, where he's going and how he wants to get there. I think the best part about this book was the perceived realism. Now I say "perceived" because I have never been under terrorist control nor have I been in a terrorist hunting unit. But if I were in either, I imagine it would go something like this book. He writes in a manner that is not so grandoise that you feel like you're watching a movie with a 200 million dollar explosives budget. The main character is believable and good, but not perfect. Even in the end, as it wraps up rather quickly, I thought - well, that was kind of anticlimactic - but then realized that that's how it is. There are no dancers or music or productions, just people getting the job done. The Bad: At times the terrorists seemed a little stereotypical but this was not a distraction. The Ugly: Could have done without the love interest. I think I would rather read a book where the protagonist has a wife or one girl he's with as opposed to introducing the new, fawn eyes blonde girl who you know is going to end up kissing him at the end. If you're going to spend all the time focusing on the realism outside of the love interest, why blow it when it comes to the girl. Truth be told, I don't think anyone really cares about her anyway. The Verdict: Definitely worth the read. The political clashes and infighting are worth the read alone.

Tom Clancy fans look no further
Many years ago I found my favorite author, Tom Clancy. I loved his writing style, subject matter, story telling and characters and I read all of his primary novels. I was very sad at his passing knowing that I would never again get to experience the joy of the release of a brand new novel written by Tom Clancy. I am extremely excited, however, to have found the Mitch Rapp novels by Vince Flynn."Transfer of Power" is my first Vince Flynn novel and I could not have enjoyed it more. Mr Flynn's writing style, subject matter, story telling and characters are very reminiscent of Tom Clancy's and I believe that if you like one you will find it difficult not to like the other. As much as I enjoyed my first Flynn novel I doubt he could ever quite measure up to Clancy in my mind but that speaks more to timing and nostalgia than anything else. I do suspect, though, that he may become a very close runner up.I just finished the book and the next two (in order of publish dates) are due tomorrow. I'm looking forward to a new series of books to enjoy and new characters to invest in. I am sad to find out that, only having found Vince Flynn in the last week, in 2013 he also passed away but, thankfully, he left us with about a dozen novels. And, of course, I absolutely LOVE the "mass distribution" paperback. You can't beat the convenience of an e-book but, to me, the mass distribution paperback is by far the superior format. The size, the feel, the smell, the simple reliability and the ability to keep your favorites on a shelf to reread and share with others make this format my favorite by far. In addition, the quality of the one I received is far better than I'm used to. The pages are a bright white and the print is exceptionally clear and sharp which makes it outstandingly easy to read, even in low light.

Great story.
A real page turner. I like his writing style, but some of it was a bit too wordy and detailed. Could do with a bit less detail.

Excellent story, great characters, immaculate control of event
This is one of the best volumes in the Mitch Rapp series. It is better, but not essential, to read this book after the preceding two.

Just gets better and better
Having read the first two books in the series I thought there’d be a falling off in quality of storyline but how wrong was I ? This one starts out slowly, gathers pace gradually and then draws you at pace into a tense ,nail-biting finale.Great action with finely drawn characters.Another very enjoyable read in the happy knowledge that there are plenty more left in the series.

Great book
Like all of this series I just could not put it down. The author has a way of dragging you into the story and not letting you go until the very end. If you like espionage books this series is great. It is also nice the way the main character, Mitch, matures through the decades as his adventures continue while the characters around him come and go.
