Just a Boot
Prevents the metal from banging and rattling. Works well and does it's job to perfection. If you're mounting a Hi_Lift on your vehicle you'll want one of these.

Good product for now.
I am sure once the elements beat it up it will be useless. Hopefully it will last for a while

Not quite snug
Bought this for a new hi-lift XT485. It fits, but I feel like it could be a little better. In my case it was ok due to how it is mounted on my Jeep, It doesn’t allow the keeper to slide too far in either direction and open the handle while I’m driving.

Opinion on Hi-Lift Jack Handle-Keeper
I'm giving this item 3 stars, because I'm not sure what to rate it. Can't rate it one or less because it is well made. Durable plastic/polymer. It is ridgid and not flexible. It is made by Hi-Lift as it has their name and website on it. It definiately will go down over the top clamp-clevis attachment, but you have to use a rubber mallet to drive the handle keeper on and off of the jack with that attachment on the jack. I can't push it down over the top clamp by hand and I don't brag, but I am far from a weakling. If you are big and strong enough to push it down by hand more power to you, just don't get the end of jack in your kisser when it finally slips past the top clamp. I understand that if this thing would just slide around easily it probably would not do the job it was designed for, but using a rubber mallet is a little over the top. Under most circumstances you probably wouldn't need to take it all the way off of the jack to use the jack. And if you are going to reposition the top clamp for winching or spreading you'll need two 3/4" wrenches any way so you could very well have a rubber mallet along. Yes I am going to use it as I travel with a reasonable amount of tools anyway. Would I have bought it if I had known all this, no. I am pretty good at making clever solutions to problems on my own, I just was lazy in this instance. I grew up in country that the handy man jack was just common place and usually more than one was owned by everyone. I was involved in raising a Morton type steel building up about 12" to make room for a concrete floor. The building had 16 ft walls and was about 30 ft x 70 ft. A handy man jack was on every other timber with a transit in the middle siting on measured lines to keep the lift level. Everyone work as one and it took no time at all, the building just lifted, then pushed dirt down the holes under the timbers. Was a big pile of handy man jacks in the photo afterwards.

Exactly what it should be.
Not really much to say here. A simple piece produced by the same people who made the jack. You'd hope and expect it to fit and do as promised. And it does. I'm seeing tons of negative reviews on this, on Amazon, which leads me to believe as is often the case, we should buy directly from Hi Lift in this instance. I just literally put mine on today. I can buy another one if and when needed, but if I do have to buy another, I'll go to Hi Lift as I kind of doubt they'd keep making inferior items over and over. Everyone knows they make the best jack.

Works perfectly
Exactly as advertised. Works well. I especially like the shape of the ‘rectangular’ hole because it fits over the bolt at the end of most jacks.
