put in, initialise disk using windows in built tool and that's about it. i have been hammering this hard drive for about 2 days now - backing up and restoring a bunch of very large (5GB per file) items from the cloud and external drives this is the third hard drive for my laptop in a week. the first broke after just 30 minutes of use. the second got so hot it throttled to around 12 mgbps transfer speeds but this, it just keeps reasonable temps and keeps going - uptime is over 40 hours with more or less constant use and working no problems. this is why it matters to buy a good brand for things like hard drives.

Working great so far. Seems to be a genuine drive. There aren't a lot of options when it comes to NAS rated m2 SSD's, so I'm glad this is a good product.Don't forget to register your drive on the WD website for your warranty.

As easy to install linux on to as any normal HDD would be, no weirdness encountered when doing so. I'll put the review up to 5 stars if there are no problems with it over > 6 months.

Initially, had trouble snapping it into a Satechi USB C Hub but after fumbling a bit I got it to seat. Formatting was a problem at first because the formatting screen did not look like the one on the help video on Youtube but with some trial and error, it finally formatted. Works great!

Reasonable price, I have this drive purely running Win 10 OS and Plex. So nothing to strenuous. Very little writes and reads. But boots quick. Will be purchasing a second to hold Plex library, which will be doing tons of reads, and few writes.

I had a failed drive on my NAS.I ordered this in the evening at 6PM, with express delivery I received it the following morning at 9:30AM. Great delivery service.The drive is working well as expected.
