Works as it says it would.
Just be aware that this tape is double sided. Found that out the hard way!

A Real Time Saver but Tricky to Use
This hem tape saves an enormous amount of time by allowing you to avoid having to sew hems on clothes that don't fit, or it saves a lot of money by avoiding paying for a sewing service. The tape is sticky on both sides and remarkably strong and resilient. I thought it would start detaching after a few washes, but I used it on several items of clothing and never ran into that problem. The items of clothing wore out eventually and were discarded without the hem tape ever being a problem. I did not give 5 stars because the tape is very difficult to apply properly. The folding of the clothing and the alignment of the tape have to be very precise, but the tape is so strong on both sides, that a small mistake can lead to a crease in the clothing, and then you have to start all over again. That's not easy because you then have to scrape off the tape that stuck, without damaging the clothing. So I would recommend practicing first on an old item of clothing that you intend to discard.

AMAZING!!
This stuff is AMAZING!!! Loved, loved, loved that the application was a "no-iron" process. It really couldn't have been simpler to use!! I used it for hemming four 53-inch long valances that were hanging too low in my bay window and blocking the natural light. It might have taken 10-15 minutes to do all of them, stretching them out on my kitchen island!! Align sticky side at bottom, back-side of fabric all the way across and cut from the roll. Peel the top paper covering to reveal the opposite side of the double sided tape, then fold up to desired spot that will give you the hem you need, and press. Done! There is a little wiggle room for adjustment and repositioning, but the sticking power is good. I couldn't be happier with the ease of use of this product and the end result it gave me!! Now my valances are an accent pop and not overshadowing my window. Just the length I wanted!!

Stays put!
I needed to recover some couch cushions, but I’m not a seamstress. It was a leather-like material, and I knew that a normal sewing machine wouldn’t work. I found this and it actually worked really well! I researched on YouTube how to recover without sewing and this cut down so much time. I pulled on it and it’s very sticky. Seems like it will stand up to the rest of time too.

Test Before Use....
I purchased these fabric glue pens because I have used other Aleenes glues and my Liquid Stitch was thick and goopy (10-year-old tube!) I was planning on using it on a hand embroidered purse I recently purchased to glue down some loose threads, reinforce areas that were a little loose but not coming up yet, and the underside of a flap with bells so those didn't come loose either. Most of the threads I am gluing are visible on the front of the purse. I tested this glue on the back of the purse where it is less noticeable. By the way, these pens are sturdy, large, and hold lots of glue. A little goes a long way.It is clear and comes out of the pen clear, unlike Liquid Stitch which is white and dries clear. Even with a slight squeeze, a lot come out of the pen at once and would have seriously messed up the purse. I used a bamboo skewer to apply it after testing it on a napkin. I applied it to some pink, orange, and dark green threads. It does hold well (so far), and it does dry to be flexible; however it does noticeably change the colors and is very visible. The pink it made a much deeper shade of pink. On the orange, which is in between the light shade of the pink and the dark green, it doesn't show hardly at all. I did darken the orange thread when applied but once dried looks like almost the same shade. The dark green became very shiny and now looks black.I am glad I tested it on a less conspicuous part on the purse and only in very small amounts! I will use it for mending though after testing it first to see how it affects the colors. I did use a little Liquid Stitch, too, before deciding it was just too goopy, and it can't be seen at all. I just ordered another tube of Liquid Stitch and will use that for visible projects. I can't say how long it lasts and how it holds up to a washing or repeated washings, since I haven't done that with it. I had hoped using the pens would negate the need for the bamboo skewers, but too much still comes out and very quickly.

Works as discribed
1st lets talk about honest advertising. The sticker says new. The discription says new. The product was used. (See pics)The tape itself works great. I needed it to hem the sleeves on a sport coat. It is a light weight unlined coat. (See pics).

Great adhesion for costumes
I'm making a cosplay costume for someone, made entirely out of a stretch synthetic leather. Even though the package says it is not for stretch synthetics, it held an appliqué of the same fabric onto it. I used the tape and trimmed it to shape (with the backing paper on after I adhered it to the back edges of the appliqué. Yes, you do lose stretch, but that didn't matter for me. The bond seems strong. I would not sew over it, as it is fairly thick and would certainly gum up your needle, if you could get through it at all.In regards to some of the other reviews, I would not use this (or any fusible or glue) in lieu of sewing - gluing seams with anything is asking for trouble. I would use this type of application only for a craft or costume, not for garments or something that will be washed very often. Gluing is second to sewing, only in circumstances where it doesn't matter. I cringe at glued hems and the like, because it is shoddy work and will NOT last. If you can't sew a simple seam or hem, please find someone who does, or better yet, learn! Sewing is indeed a life skill. I am very happy with the results of this products intended purpose.

Sticks well!
I used this tape to hem pants. It says to not wash or dry the clothing with fabric softener/fabric sheet before you apply the tape, and this is important if you want a result that will continue to stick in the future through washing & drying. After application, you can wash/dry as usual. I've washed/dried my pants with fabric softener sheets several times since I hemmed them, and the tape is as good as ever. Permanently hemmed.

Incredibly sticky!
Magic stuff! Super sticky. Easy to cut and peel backing off.I used this tape to repair a cat scratched sofa - I cut millimeter thin slivers of fabric tape and stuck behind each loose thread. The tape sticks so well. I was able to 'glue down' all the loose threads that were too short to stitch back in. Didn't stick to hands either!I can see so many uses for this strong adhesive.I think I will be keeping this in my sewing kit from now on.

Well done Aleene
The fabric tape worked well on chiffon fabric. I used it on the breast part of the dress where the dress had to much fabric. I’m impressed that it worked very well and held in place while I danced the night away. The only thing I had trouble with was applying the tape as it is super sticky (which is a good thing) so don’t be surprise if you waste a bit at the beginning.

Very handy, glad I heard about it on mumsnet uk.
Used it to nable me to recover a wide quality roman blind with new fabric. Quite easy to use and so far has stayed stuck. If this remains the case then i've renewed the blind for about 18 pound.
