The bristles have two layers: a longer layer for combing out knots, and an under layer that supossed to seem like its boars hair but they er actually plastic bristles. But they are still very very practical brushes, especially for the price. Good for getting knots out of kids' hair. 4 stars because I thought they would be actual boar bristles.

Boar brush bristles make my hair feel so soft. I like brushing my hair before bed, my hair comes out amazing in the morning. I also use it when I am curling my hair with curling iron, definitely gives me a blowout look.

I treated myself to the big brush and the little one for my 3 year old girl. The craftsman ship is beautiful. Feels good on my scalp. My daughter is tender headed and tolerates this brush. Of course i have to go slowly from the bottom and carefully work my way up. She doesn't mind the contact of this brush on her scalp which is great! She loves the brush and it fits her hand. This is my favorite brush and i hope it lasts...seems like it will with the quality. The brush cleaner is a bonus!

I love these brushes. I was told to try this type of brush, as I have hair that breaks easily. Since using them for a few months, I have noticed a difference in my hair. They brush my hair out easily without breakage. I highly recommend these brushes. I use the small one in my travel bag.
