Easy to fit, shiny and attractive . . . for now
The problem with sink collector strainers is the stuff we put down them. Tea and coffee are major culprits but then all the things we wash, peel, drain, strain and pour away contribute to the rising level of discolouration and grubbiness.Eventually a point is reached when replacement is the only sensible option and these, although not the cheapest, seemed a good price, had good reviews and were the right size. They are strong, solid, strainers, with collectors that fit firmly yet remove easily and they are stainless steel, which, in the case of sink strainers, means more that they don’t rust than actually stainless as stains are inevitable in parts of the strainers that are difficult or nigh impossible to reach and clean.Fitting is easy with washers top and bottom and a reasonably long screw to attach the shiny bit you see on top to the base under the sink – the length being important for thicker ceramic and Belfast sinks. Don’t use silicone sealant as a sort of extra insurance, the seals work just fine and the sealant is a real pain to remove when you come to change the strainer again in the future, something I discovered as a legacy from my last fitting when I installed a new sink some ten years or so ago. We learn, good or bad, by experience.Once top and bottom are connected the bottom bowl has a standard 1.5in screw thread outlet to attach the drainage pipeworkIn my case the actual fitting and reconnecting pipework, then checking for leaks, took ten minutes tops, although that didn’t include cleaning a decade of grime under and around where the old top seal had been or removing sealant and cleaning the surface around the outlet in the sink below. For a new installation it is a simple, quick job and can even be fitted to a sink before it is installed. These seem as good as any on the market for the price.I suspect that the strainers would outlast the sink and probably the kitchen but over time they do become stained and difficult to clean in all the nooks and crannies so replacement will be considered for aesthetic rather than strictly practical reasons, and when that time comes these do the job, look good and don’t cost the earth.

Looks great and no leaks.
Pros: Great product, quick and easy to fit. 1x sink waste, 1x strainer, 2x seals, one for inside the sink and one for underneath. I believe the grey coupler nut in the photos, attaching this to the rest of the plumbing is 1 1/2” BSP which unfortunately is not included. No leaks on re-assembly. Just make sure every plastic to plastic joint is clean and has a rubber/silicone washer.Cons: A little bit pricy as an alternative Stainless Steel Basket Strainer Waste 1 1/2" from TS or SF is a third of the price.

Easy to install
The sink plughole & strainer is well made. It was easy to install in my old sink, followed diagrams. The plug part works easily by turning the knob and seals well. Very pleased.

Saved £££
Was quoted £45 by a plumber to sort out my leaky sink, decided to buy the parts and try to do the job myself, so glad I did. So easy to install and it’s working a treat, saved myself £30 and it took only minutes to do the job, the drainage parts seem really good quality.

Qrity Sink Collection, Stainless Steel Kitchen Sink Basket Strainer Plug Waste 110mm 1½"
I ordered 2 of these, one for the main sink & one for the half sink. I was tempted to get someone in to fix this for me, as the screw / bolt had come away / broke & I had water in my cupboard. I looked up to how replace this on YouTube & thought I'd give it a go. It was actually easier to look at the instructions on here for it. This was very easy to do yourself, I had my 14yr old help - it was so easy, took less than 10mins for both & I've had no trouble or leaks. Saved myself some money & learnt something new! You don't need anything else apart from what's in the bag..... no putty, glue, tape etc. Good quality too.
