This pet feeder almost drove me insane with the inaccessible app, the illogical manual user interface and the insufficient instructions.The product itself is beautifully compact and the retracting drawer is a great idea for hygiene, I am sure that if I ever manage to connect it to the app I will be delighted with how it works. Thanks to another review I now understand that the wi-fi is the issue. Really grateful to the reviewer, I will adapt and get a range extender that caters for that particular frequency. The company’s website is useless. I can understand a bit of German but the whole website is not user friendly. There is no phone number and the email I sent on a form does not give me any hope they will ever answer.

I couldn’t get the feeder to connect to wifi. Tried umpteen times. I find that if you have difficulty connecting a device to wifi initially then it remains problematic for the rest of its life. Manual in German, small sheet in English with ‘how to connect’ and ‘troubleshooting’. PetTec website all in German. Shame really. Looks like a good device otherwise. I’m sending it back to Amazon.

Wanted a sturdy reliable, quality product and this appeared to fill the bill and as it had some positive reviews we bought one.The manual is written in German but it comes with an app for set-up purposes, which is in English, so if you are handy with these kind of things you can work through the set up requirements, but it only works on a 2.4G wireless network. If like me you have a dual frequency router (2.4G + 5G) - it just doesn't work. Some screens needed to set up the app and to calibrate are dreadful (see pictures) - can't be read without a magnifying glass and not easy then. I was lucky and did manage to get round the router problem with an Edimax range extender which only operates on the 2.4G frequency but it would have been nice to know about this before purchase. You do not want to mess about with your router settings and compromise your smart TV operation do you? Other than setting up, the app is quite good and easy to use.Once we understood how to set it up and get it working via the app, we thought it was a good bit of kit - however our cat does not keep regular feeding times - she tends to graze and we thought that we could cope by leaving the food tray open a sufficiently long time to cover the variability - but the delay from opening to closing is just one hour maximum, which isn't long enough. You can set the speaker with a recording (the default is a bell) to call the beast but that won't help if she is out of earshot and she is not inclined to come running when called. We could not chance leaving our cat for a day or two unless we were absolutely sure that she would get fed. As a result, we are unable to use this feeder and it has been returned. Pity.Other than that, the lack of an English language manual is a real issue - there is stuff in it which the buyer needs to be aware of and which would help greatly in the setup and operation for new users. (Partial success with Google Translate). The plug is also the continental two pin but you can connect to the mains with the USB cable that comes with itSummarising, its a nice well made product and will work well if your pet feeds at set times.

Really pleased with this feeder. I've had it for 3 months now and it hasn't failed. I initially thought that my cat would be able to open the food tray but so far he hasn't been able to. The app can be temperamental but it is really easy to program feeds. All in all, it has been a great investment and has made life easier!

We had high hopes for this but are really disappointed. It arrived yesterday and we've had nothing but trouble. First we couldn't get it to connect to the WiFi unless we turned off the encryption on our router, leaving it open for anyone to access. Then we finally got it all set up and had figured out his meal times and portion sizes, and the app deleted the connection with the feeder and we had to reset the whole thing like it had never been connected before. This then happened another 3 times over the next 24 hours.We also measured the portion sizes he was being given to ensure they was close to accurate, as he is on a prescribed diet so needs to be monitored, and instead of giving him 15g it gave him 55g one time, then 6g another, one time giving him so much the tray was full and the app popped up a notification saying it had a block! I thought it wasn't meant to dispense anything if there was good left in there?The app is really slow and the pictures used to tell you how to reset the food weight etc are so scrunched up you can barely even read them, and you can't use the manual either because it's not in English (although when asked the company did email me an English copy).The feeder works to spit out food and open and close the drawer at the set times, but the rest of the features are very hit and miss.Really disappointed.

This device is hard to setup due to a poor app design and the app is in German or weird English. When working, it was fine. After one year the device stopped connecting to Wi-Fi. No support.

Excellent now I can be sure my dog is being fed while I'm away at work, I had no idea how to set it up manually but with the pet tec app on the play store it was easy peazy.

About once per week this device will loose connection to the wifi as shown in pic. Sometimes is will reconnect after a day but sometimes need manual reset. I have other devices on same router that dont loose connection so its unlikely to be rooter problem.I bought this device so I could have a few days away knowing I could keep moggie fed, however it has twice failed while I was away and have had to cut short my trip. Totally fails at job its supposed to do.
