Beautiful Leather Journal
This is a great leather journal. I love that you can replace the paper inside using the elastic band that holds it in place. (there are 3 paper inserts). The leather is smooth and I can tell it's going to age in a beautiful and unique way. The paper is really thick and can take any kind of pen or ink. The Wanderings logo on the front cover is very classy. It's also the perfect size -- not too large, but not so small that you can barely fit a sentence across the page.

A great buy and must have for scrapbooking!
I hardly ever leave reviews but this was just too great not to. This is my first time doing scrapbooking and I tried several other journals before this one. The bindings wouldn't hold and would start to rip/split plus other issues. Not with this one though!! I fell in love with it! It's made of such great quality and has held together now for several months of continuous daily use! It came with a cute thank you card which was such a nice touch. The only downside is they don't offer different colors for the leather cover (would love a dark green one) but I will definitely be buying this again when it's time!

Fantastic in the long run if you take care of it correctly
This leather journal cover is fantastic. I am very much a minimalist in my style and love how simple but quality the design is. The leather is a beautiful mid-tone brown (slightly lighter on the inside of course) and it patinas beautifully. However, this leather does not appear to have been treated with anything to keep it from scratching super easily and just 'weather proofing' it from wear and tear. I bought some leather moisturizer and sealer for the edges to make it tougher against my daily abuse as well as rounded the edges more with a leather tool to stop it catching on things as easily.Other than that I would be nice to have one more elastic loop for inserts but that can easily be modified by adding them on later.I give this cover an 8/10 as it's a great cover but it's just missing the final touches that could make this a top seller. If you're not afraid of a little DIY this would be a great cover for you.

I love it but needed to make minor alterations
I love it but needed to make minor alterations to suit my needs. When it arrived the bottom metal band was on the inside and was getting annoyingly stuck inside one of the books. With the help of a darning needle, I was able to untie and feed the ends to the outside and connect it in the same way the upper band was attached. At that time I also added a second elastic band through the same way giving me the ability to add more items inside. As you can see from the images, currently I have 2 books jump-banded together under the back elastic and a third book jump banded with an accessory kit (folder & zip case) on the front elastic. With nothing attached to the centers of the jump bands, this gives me room to easily add 2 more items if needed, although I feel anything more than one more book might make it stick out the front a bit more than I'd like it too.It arrived with some minor 'blemishes' and through the course of my alterations, it gathered a few more. The gentler ones rub out while the others stand proud, this is not a problem, in fact, I think it is what makes it so perfect. It's a travelers notebook, it's supposed to look like its been around the block a few times. As for the size, that depends on what you need for space on a page and what your comfortable writing in. Initially, I purchased another brand that was 'standard' size... it was tall and thin and I was blinded by the fact that it has a snap closure, a built-in pen holder, and some ID card pockets inside but it was too thick to try and keep open with little space to write in, so I returned and purchased this one in the A5 size... it's perfect for me.My final decision to buy this one came down to one reviewer's image where he had soldered a sort of Aztec-ish image of an orca on it. That image made me realize this book was exactly what I was looking for... a traveler's book that represents me, both inside and out. I can only hope my art skills are as good as the man with the orca!

Great for using at work
I got this so I can take notes at work and draw if I need to. Being able to have the different types of paper is nice, and I like the leather. No smell, great color and very sturdy!

It’s Serviceable, but leaves a bit to be desired
So many reviews indicate that this notebook is perfect. They’re right if all you want is a leather travel journal, but in paying less you do receive a lesser quality option than one of the more premium brands or a custom craft notebook. The leather is soft and smooth - in the first week I managed to get a crease in it by placing it in my bag wrong. The crease came out with some leather moisturizer and lying flat over night. The notebook seems to have a sweet spot at around 3-4 64-page softcover notebooks. If you’re using larger notebooks (128 pages) then you may only be able to fit about 2-3. While wiping down with a damp cloth I noticed the dye rubbing off, so I suspect that it may not have been sealed. After using for about a week I started modifying it by rounding the edges and burnishing with beeswax to improve water proofing. I also applied a wax to the cover to improve the water resistance and hopefully help seal the dye until I have time to seal the dye properly.Overall this is a bargain bin piece. You are effectively paying for the labor of cutting the piece, but it gives significant room for end users to customize to their liking for a unique piece.Note: The photos taken after working on the leather. Only the band on the elastic was untouched.
