Perfect
Originally had issues setting up the switch as I couldn’t access the interface. After waiting a while, it finally let me log in and configure it. I do not fault the seller or the switch itself as this was most likely operator error. The switch is in full service now and works like a champ. Thank you to the seller for their quick email responses and assistance.

works well
The only problem I found it that you must configure the POE settings before it will power a device. If you screw up the settings you could damage a Poe device. Mine is for sale to prevent this from happening in the future. As new in box if you want it contact me at comtech*silverstar*com.

Device management requires a hodge-podge of mutually hostile tools
There’s nothing wrong with this switch, and a lot that’s right with it. However, the management interface is by means of a web app talking to a server running on the switch, so unless you punch a hole in your firewall, you’re limited to doing the management from a browser running on the same LAN. The box runs on a stripped-down Ubuntu Linux, but is a different variant of Ubuntu from the one which runs EdgeOS on the EdgeRouter. Furthermore, Ubiquiti’s EdgeMAX product line doesn’t have any wireless access points, but if you buy Ubiquiti access points from their UniFi product line, they need to be managed with an instance of the UniFi Controller software server running somewhere on the LAN, but UniFi Controller doesn’t know how to talk to or manage any of the EdgeMAX products. There’s the unfulfilled promise of a single management interface in using Ubiquiti’s UNMS system, but they don’t allow you to set up an account for an installation of the size which will serve a residential installation or a small business; those have fewer than the supported minimum number of devices. So managing the installation is a hodge-podge of different interfaces, and almost impossible to do remotely for a small site.

Great switch
Bought this to use with the AC pro access points. Works with both the old and the new, 24v or 48v PoE. Able to customize each port through the interface. Works with the other Ubiquiti products.

Not really POE - only Passive - CAREFUL!
Be careful when buying this item. It will not power regular POE devices, like even Ubiquiti's own UAP-AC-PRO wireless devices. Instead, it is only for "passive POE", which is somewhat outdated and not often used. Maybe we're missing something, but it was a big failure for us and unfortunately it was a couple of weeks past the time we could return it to Amazon.

Every one failed
I had 5 of these Ubiquiti Power Switch running IP cameras and VoIP phones. Every one of the UBNT switches failed. Junk. Have since replaced with standard switches and separate POE injector.
