Clarion Lumina-4K Home Theater Projector

Clarion is a reputable Japanese manufacturer of multimedia products focusing on the auto and marine markets. A careful search of their website shows that the Clarion Lumina-4K Home Theater Projector is not made by that Clarion.I was tempted to give this product an extra star for the sheer chutzpah of its marketing. By way of calibration:1. The youtube video for this product (search on youtube for hS0KQOBRcSY) appears to be generated by a low-quality speech program. The vocal quality is that of a 1980's speech generator, and the second sentence at 0:08 calls the product the "Clarion Lumina 4 Kelvin" (4K is the temperature at which helium liquifies, apparently no one bothered to "proof read" what the computer came up with). Youtube has a raft of similarly mindless marketing videos all under the name "Carmelita Steadman".2. The 3K and 2K Clarion Lumina projectors both have native resolutions of 640x480, and are priced at respectively $4,199 and $3,995. Anyone who would pay that much for so tiny a resolution could do even better with the opportunities offered by the heirs of deceased Nigerian potentates.3. The "Support", "About Us", and "Contact Us" tabs on the website Clarionprojectors dot com leave unanswered the questions of who, what, and where is Clarion. No phone number, no address, not even a country. The "Support" tab simply gives a short FAQ whose first Q&A is as follows.Q: I have just purchased a projector but have difficulties setting it up...A: Our compact projectors are intuitively easy to set up. Please refer to the manual included in the box.The other three Q&A's of that FAQ are in similarly useless vein.Could there be any better example of Amazon's utter failure of quality control?

This is part of a scam! I just got approached in a parking lot by some greasy looking guys with this product and they claimed they had an extra projection tv that they needed to unload. I was curious even though I figured it was a scam. They said it was worth $5000. My first instinct was to grab my phone and check the price on Amazon! After reading the other reviews it all made sense. They put up this fake add to make people believe that it was worth $5000!They said they would take 10% of the "value".$500 for a tv they probably got for $70 on eBay.That's why this fake listing is here.Amazon take this down!!

Seriously? 5K for this? Amazon must have gotten rid of filters or something for this sort of crap to be sold on the store, let alone for 100x its worth (and that may be too much even). It's like ebay on amazon suddenly.. you have no clue if what you're getting is any good. I used to think Amazon was mostly about fair products, but this is beyond obvious it's a scam and if anyone buys these or any other similar product for way way way more than market value they are getting robbed. I hope Amazon has a fantastic fraud department because I suspect anyone buying these is going to need it.

This item is a complete SCAM. I received this item as a Christmas gift from my In-Laws. It seemed suspicious because of the wording like "3-D", "6000 lumen", etc., and that it came with a High Definition Digital projector screen. Once I got home I looked at Amazon and found the other reviews. My In-Laws are elderly and bought the item from an individual at a Nascar race who told them to check Amazon to see that they were getting a huge deal by buying a $5000 item for $500. Of course it sounded good to them, so they bought it. The projector is worth maybe $50. I've contacted Amazon to inform them of the scam and requested they remove the item and similar items from Amazon.

Certainly a scam. Maybe I'm the only one who notices this, but take a look at the first picture, the one with the projector (out of the box) and the box. See how tall the projector is? Probably 3-5". Now look at the cardboard box. That thing couldn't be more than 2" tall. No way in hell the project fits in that box.

This is the same piece of junk being sold under the Paramount name. It's standard definition and not worth the amount it costs to ship (even if the shipping is free)!

This is a low quality standard definition projector with a state of the art ultra hi def price. Paying over a cupla hundred bucks is a HUGE mistake. Ask me how I know :(O yea, how on God's green earth did Amazon allow such a product to be listed??????

I don't know the product but I know that it is commonly peddled by scam artists
