Barnes & Noble Nook Color Tablet USB Cable Charger Newest Re-enforced Version

This item is exactly as advertised. Yes it is more pricey than a knock off but rest assured it is worth the cost.I have owned my Nook color since 2011 and I have gone through four of the old model charger, not because I am hard or careless, on the contrary, I am very careful. However because I use my Nook so much I sometimes read with it plugged in and this is where the fault lies. The connector is weak and there is no support at the neck thus causing easy breakage.This new model has a stronger support body all around. It is parallel to the bottom rather than perpendicular which makes it less likely you well bend it while reading plugged in.Granted it doesn't have the Nook charging light to show you when it's charged but it's still worth it.2019: I still own this Nook and use it every day so it is charged frequently. This charger is the last Nook charger I have bought and looks to be the last charger I will every need. Good design, product.

Bought this and went on 10 day trip. Charged up my Nook just fine, and continued to recharge correctly during the entire trip. I like the way it's a 90 degree angle for the plug, so you can be charging and using the Nook at the same time.There is no charging light on the cable to indicate charging, but it does work. Very happy with purchase so far.

This works better than the original cord that came with my Nook Color. The way the plug fits in is secure and allows me to use the Nook while it's charging. The only thing I would change is to add a light to show it's charging. The plug came loose from the outlet and the next day, when I took the Nook along with me, it hadn't charged. If there was a charging indicator light, I would have realized it wasn't charging and corrected the problem so I could have used the Nook the next day.

So much better!My mother and I have gone through countless replacement chargers for her Nook Color and my Nook Tablet. It was the same problem for each of it, no matter how careful we were, the charger would break at the exact same place. I felt a little better when I went online and found out we weren't the only ones, it was a design flaw by B&N.Enter this charger.. I love it! More importantly, she loves it! No more having the charging end stick out and break. Charger sits flush with the Nook, making it possible to use while charging. The ends are reinforced and the charger is not flimsy at all.The only thing I miss is the lit up N to show it's charging, however this isn't a big deal since the Nook its self has the charging battery icon on the screen.

It was delivered on time and love the more secure charger. Unfortunately I have to turn of the volume on my Nook as it constantly make noise as if it was just plugged in. Other than that working fine and charges quicker than previous nook charger.

I've had 2 Nook (Color) power cords prior to this one. This is a good improvement over the original design which tended to break at the housing for the Nook connection. This design is much more robust. If you don't have fingernails, it is a bit more difficult to remove than the original. But I am happy to make that tradeoff for improved durability.

This cord works very well. Much better than the previous one i was using. The only negative comment is that if your nook is encased in any type of cover, you'll have to trim some of it away in order for the charger to fit snug and not fall out. My cover is leather so I was very carefull in trimming it with a very sharp utility knife. The end that goes into the nook has a lip that clicks on the nook itself and if you have any type of cover, it will prevent the snug and secure fit. Other than that it works great.
