Bought this because I wanted to run Jeep through car wash without antenna hitting the car. Works well enough and gets most radio stations and no more issues with antenna hitting car.

This is a perfect replacement for the factory, ugly, huge JK antenna. Get one.

I was looking for a replacement antenna after mine had been mercilessly bent by an automated car wash. After seeing a stubby style antenna on a friend's vehicle I went searching for an antenna that would be compatible with my 2004 Jeep Liberty. Enter the CravenSpeed Stubby Antenna.I've seen a lot of negative reviews about the stubby antennas because people complain that the reception isn't as good. This to me wasn't an issue for two reasons. First, it's impossible for a 6" antenna to perform as well as a 3-4' antenna. It's just not going to happen. If you're expecting the same level of reception from a stubby antenna you're just kidding yourself. Yes, antennas on newer cars are much smaller, but they're also generally placed on the roof, not the side of the vehicle. For me I could no longer tune into one of my favorite stations, but it's also a station that I would often have trouble hearing anyway with my factory antenna. So yes, the reception isn't as good, but some loss of reception was expected.Second, CravenSpeed makes it very clear on their website that some customers had noted their reception isn't as good with the Stubby Antenna, and they are more than happy to refund your money if you're not happy. For a company to 1) recognize a potential problem that can be brought up by consumers and 2) offer a no questions refund is a good company in my book.Overall I think this is a great replacement antenna. It's looks nice, took about one minute to install, and works. My only minor gripe is that it would be great if CravenSpeed put in a little bit of thread locker to keep it in place. Unfortunately I don't have any, so I'll have to go spend a few extra bucks for a small bottle of the blue stuff.

Wanted to get a shorter antenna for my Jeep Gladiator and wanted an American made product and found this. Seems the signal did not drop off but I also do not live out in a rural area at the moment; so I’m not sure it has tested the longer range signal reception. Easy to install and looks good. No long antenna to get tangled up in the car wash either.

I love it! It's much better than the AntennaX Off-Road (13") antenna. I had high hopes for the AntennaX and thought it might provide better reception than "The Stubby", but was realistic in that I may lose channels. In short, it was unbearable for me, and I returned it.Still wanting a cleaner look, I gave The Stubby a chance. WOW! I love this antenna and plan to keep this for a very long time.Pros:- The look (short, out of view, black)- Shorter than stock antenna (still amazed at how small this is)- I can report that I have not experienced a single loss of station- Reception in both urban and rural areas- Screws into the factory hole perfectly, tightly, and "all the way" (The AntennaX I previously purchased still had a gap between it and the base, and it did not feel as solidly attached)- This is the antenna that Jeep SHOULD have used- Held up well in an auto car washPackaging was great, shielded, and held in a nice custom fit box.Initial impression of quality:- This does not sway in the wind as does the factory antenna and the AntennaX Off-Road- Construction feels solid, sturdy, and durable- It's not a flexible antenna and appears to have an all-weather coatingCons:- None yet (and very happy I took a gamble buying another shorter than stock antenna)

After my wife’s Jeep got in a fight with the garage door, her antenna needed to be replaced (door-1, jeep-0). I had planned on simply replacing it with an OEM piece, but stumbled across this one in the process. I liked the idea of a shorter antenna, and this seemed like a good option at about half the length of the stock unit. Let me tell you, this looks WAY better than I had anticipated! The finish matches the rest of the antenna assembly perfectly, and when it’s all tightened down the label is perfectly centered at the rear. I was nervous installing it, as the threads are short and it took longer to thread all the way in than I had expected. I encountered some resistance at about the half way mark, and was concerned that it wasn’t going to thread all the way down, but I kept turning it and it eventually got easier...which made me MORE nervous. Had I stripped something? Well, I guess not, because it snugged up against the base perfectly and feels sturdy. I would buy another antenna from CravenSpeed if the time ever comes.

We ordered it as a replacement for our Jeep Compass. The package arrived promptly after purchased. The packaging was sturdy, installation instructions and actual installation straightforward. The antenna was a good weight for its size. Seems like quality manufacturing. It looked great on the Jeep. I much preceded it to the original antenna as well as the other antenna that was knocked off in a car wash. This antenna withstood the automatic car wash fine. It was very sturdy. (I say "was" because we just traded in the Jeep for a minivan) As far as the signal goes, we had a fine time picking up signal was fine in town but when we travelled 4 hours West to visit my folks in Central KS, we only picked up 1 station. 1 very very crappy station. Being from central KS, I know there is more than 1 station out there, even if it is country.So, it's super good looking, sturdy/durable, great for in the city. Not so great in the vast wilderness of central KS.

Works great. It’s even smaller then it looks. Truly is stubby. Lol
