AUKEY 4K Dash Cam 2880 x 2160P Car Camera with Supercapacitor and 6-Lane Lens Dash Camera for Cars with HDR, Loop Recording, G-Sensor, Motion Detection and 2 Ports USB Car Charger

I specifically purchased this dash cam for its supposed ability to record at 1080p60. However, upon testing the camera, I could immediately tell that it was not recording in 60fps. This prompted me to read more in-depth reviews about the product, and I have found out that the 1080p 60fps mode is really just 1080p 30fps mode with each frame repeated! What a gyp. As others have mentioned, this camera is not "true" 4k resolution either, its vertical resolution is upscaled. I particularly dislike the fact that the 4k resolution is labelled as true 4k (3840x2160) in the camera software, which is blatantly false. I assume the same is true for the 720p 120fps mode, although I haven't even bothered to test that.These pseudo resolutions/frame rates should absolutely not be listed on the product specifications page or even as an option in the camera's settings menu as it is 100% false advertising.I will be keeping the cam because I like the form factor and I believe I can settle for the 2k/1440p (30fps) mode. If I were to find a camera with the same form factor and which can perform 1080p60fps recording, I would not hesitate to return this item and never look at AUKEY again. I will not recommend this product or any product produced by this manufacturer until these false claims are retracted and a firmware update is released to remove these options from the camera's menus.

Very small pocket size, neat shape, tiny and handy. Easy to install with the included mount and 3M pad. The 4K ultra sharp resolution captures way more clearer images than my old 1080 pixel one. The adjustable lens enhance flexibility and fits for wider fields. Love its ultra sharp quality!

I wanted to love this dash cam, I really did. I've waited a long time to review it because I wanted it to work well. It just hasn't. The only thing about it that I love is the quality of the 4K video, that is, when the unit is recording like it should. Read on...I purchased this item in July 2019 along with the Hardwire Kit with Motion Detection Sensor. I noticed that about every week or two, when I started my car the dash cam came up with the settings menu waiting the settings to be entered - just like it did when I first took it out of the box and installed it. I found that *NONE* of the prior settings that I had made were there, so it was like setting it up the camera from scratch every time - and every few weeks. If I didn't notice that it was on the settings screen and drove the car, no video was being recorded. To Aukey's credit, when I contacted them about this in November 2019, they sent me a brand new unit. I installed it and thought that was the end of my issues.Unfortunately, the second unit has issues too. First, when it fills the SD card (which happens quickly when you're recording in 4K), it doesn't start overwriting old videos - instead it just records nothing. Sadly, there are no on-screen warnings to let you know that the disk is full. You keep driving, thinking that it's recording and it is not.Secondly, this unit also will periodically start up with none of my previous settings that I selected - specifically, motion detection, resolution, accelerometer, or screen saver. However this one doesn't start up with the settings screen like the previous unit did - it just shows what it "sees", and so you think everything this OK. You don't get any hint that something is wrong until you realize that the screen is on 15 minutes into your drive (I set the screen saver to start at 1 minute) or when the unit will make a sound like it's just turning on after you've been driving for a while - and if it's a long drive, that sound happens over and over.As I said, I want the screen saver to kick in after 1 minute and not stay on indefinitely. Because the settings are periodically erased, the screen stays on all of the time and the screen saver never starts. Because of that, during the "Stay at Home" orders of my local government due to COVID-19, the dash cam literally drained my car's battery. Not cool.Again, I *really* wanted this to be a great dash cam. I spent far too much time researching this before purchasing. However, I simply cannot recommend this dash cam to anyone due to the problems I've experienced.

This dash cam records quality video even at night, very pleased. The 3m tape that comes with it - doesn’t hold up under California sun, so I glue mirror mounting metal bracket to window then glue plastic adapter for mounting directly on it using E6000 glue. Direct wired to fuse box. Works like a champ!

very small and discreet, does not obstruct driving view.Update: The video on this dashcam doesn't miss anything. There is no gap at all. Mine is set to a 10 minute loop and the vidoe loops overlap. So even though the video files are separated in 10 min increments you get a continous video footage because there is no blackout as far as the recorded videos are concerned. In fact every new 10 min video recorded starts with the last 3 seconds of the previous recorded video. In comparison, I have another dashcam that I bought before this which was KDlinks and it's missing about 5 seconds of videos in between loops. 5 seconds is a lot of time and if an accident happens on that space then that camera will miss the impact. I am impressed with this Aukey camera.

Aukey DR02 J - is very compact, light and easy to use and setup. But it didn't come with a memory card (bought San Disk 64GB $21- you can go up to 128GB). Also it doesn't have built in GPS. I bought an Aukey external one which snaps into the device ($20).I am very happy with it.

Been using same unit in my other car for over a year & its very reliable & always works. Resolution not true 4K more like 2.7K, but the image sharp & light sensitive good for night. The included kit comes with an extra mount, extra 3M high quality mounting adhesive that works great on glass window surface to organize the power cable path to a 12 aux power outlet in the dashboard etc.Supercapacitor lasts 10X longer & does not heat fade like lithium ion battery in other units. Love the intelligent design of the power system. Small & discrete form factor hides behind rear view mirror well too. Plenty of settings & a small useful screen & blinking LED to let you know everything's working. Some car insurance companies will give you a discount if you let them know your using a dash camera to capture roadway phenomenon evidence :)Included power cable long enough & power adapter good quality with enough power to charge my phone while also running the dash cam!

Overall quite pleased - I managed to purchase this on a lightning deal for £72, so keep an eye on the page.My windscreen is rather short and does not slope much, so I wanted a dashcam that would a) fit out of sight behind the mirror where I can forget about it / not obstruct the view out, and b) not attract attention to thieves on the street. And the Aukey ticks those boxes perfectly.As the pictures show, the form factor makes it look less like an attachment and more like another windscreen sensor from the outside. When sitting in the driver's seat, if mounted behind the mirror, all you can see is the USB lead coming out of the device and into the headliner where the cable is routed. It does not pose as a distraction to your driving or an obstruction to your view. For more stealth and even less distraction, it's possible to switch the screen off after 1 minute of activation, disable the front LED and the beep sounds in the menu.The video quality is good enough, I would say some rivalling cameras produce better results. Selecting 2160p (4K) will cause 1 frame to skip every second, which seems to be across the board if you search for sample videos on YouTube. This isn't a massive issue though. My camera seems to have a slightly short focal range (probably made worse by reflections in my low sloping windscreen). Farther objects become slightly defocussed, and this affects the readability of text (see pictures). Bumping down the exposure value in the menu makes a small difference as it removes some sun glare, but nothing can be done in the way of readjusting the lens, as it's fixed. This would be a problem if you had an accident and the offending driver's number plate didn't come into view until he/she's further away.Night shots are decent in lit areas, not so much in unlit. There isn't much information to salvage in the blacks by bumping up the brightness in editing software, but nothing rivals the Aukey in this area really, unless you get your hands on something that has a proper infrared ring around the lens.One thing I would recommend when buying any dashcam - purchase a high-endurance MicroSD card, not a "standard" one. After a week of purchasing this camera, my standard SanDisk Ultra was killed off in just 1 week presumably from taking a heavy battering from saving 4K video over and over again.

Ottima dash cam, funziona bene anche se non capisco perché non esiste la versione 4K dual camera( anteriore+ posteriore)... avrei scelto quella. Consiglio di acquistare il filtro CPL per eliminare i fastidiosi riflessi nei video registrati ...io ho acquistato il filtro CPL VIOFLO si adatta perfettamente .....

2K upscaled camera not great. Started glitching and freezing in less than a year. Regularly forgets timezone and other settings when it starts up.
