Worked well. Black mastic is awful stuff and we spent days scraping this off. In the end, this was the solution- and seemed to work far better than Bean-E-Doo and was less money.

I had the unfortunate experience of removing old floor tiles and mastic after removing my carpets for laminate flooring. Was told that the tile and mastic most likely contained asbestos as my house was built in the '50s. So, out w/ the tile, which was easy enough. However, removing the mastic was a total pain in the tush. I tried numerous "brick and mortar" supply store products claiming to be a mastic removal, and none did the job until I purchased Grayling Industries Control Mastic Remover. Indeed, the soy-based material didn't omit any noxious odor. It was very easy to apply using a simple garden sprayer (should let it sit for roughly 5 minutes). What I found to work best in removing the old mastic w/ this product was renting an electric floor scrubber and be sure to the lower portion of your walls (about 2' in height) as it will spray. Just be sure to thoroughly clean the bristle attachment and wear protective gear, whether your mastic contains asbestos or not. Again, I would not hesitate in recommending this product and the company's customer service was quite helpful and friendly.Just a couple of side notes: Upon my initial delivery, the shipped product was damaged (slow leak) upon delivery. However, I was sent replacement for no additional cost. Last, I found the noted coverage (up to 200 square feet/gallon) to not be adequate for my mastic removal job. I'd suggest a coverage area of up to 150 square feet/gallon.

I'm not a negative person, but this stuff absolutely did not do the job on my mastic removal job.

This product is awesome! If you follow the label directions it will remove the mastic layer since you start spraying it.

The product is good and removes mastic well. The only problem that we had was we used it on old wood that had been buried under layers of old linoleum so the wood was dry and it stained some of the wood.
