Wonderful and without toxic non-stick coated interior
A countertop oven without non-stick coating inside was hard to find! Really, this is the only one under $400. We have pet birds now and didn't know that was important until I started searching for a new toaster oven and read horror stories. I use this oven whenever I can to avoid using the "big" oven. It makes decent toast, reheats leftovers, cooks pizza, bakes casseroles, cookies, etc. The broil feature isn't as great as an open flame gas broiler, but this appliance is still the best value and size for our kitchen and we are very happy with it. I chose not to go with the digital controls because they over-complicate things and are more likely to fail. I really like that Amazon offers the Square Trade extended warranties on item pages and for such a good price. I have learned over the years that if you use or rely on something daily and don't want or won't be able to replace it if it goes bad, buy the extended warranty. I am never sorry I do because they have saved me way more than they cost.

Saves Energy and Works Well.
I got this to save energy. It draws 1500 watts compared to the 2400 watts my big oven draws. It works well for baking small items. It does accomodate a normal muffin pan.It has simple mechanical controls so there are no electronic components exposed to the high heat which can fail (all toaster ovens get hot inside and out). However, because the chassis is not double insulated, it is required to be grounded per National Electrical Code, which this oven is not; one star off for that. It is well constructed with no apparent manufacturing defects. The thermostat is reasonably accurate as measured with a Taylor TruTemp oven thermometer. Overall I'm pleased with it and would recommend it to others.

Good Product but this model was not what we expected.
This product was purchased to replace a Waring that after 3 years, expired. I thought I was getting the exact same model but when it arrived it had various changes to the previous model. Perhaps it was an updated version. The crumb tray was difficult to get out to brush crumbs away. It didn't fit the existing shelf in our pantry as the original did. We then chose not to keep this oven due to those two objections by us.. Amazon was quick to refund the entire amount of purchase and there was a return label as well for UPS return delivery.

Great Toaster/Convection and no PFOA/PTFE!
This is a great toaster/convection oven and I can't say enough good things about Waring Pro or their mother company Conair. We had to replace a toaster, which my mother-in-law uses more than the regular oven, and we were concerned about the use of non-stick coatings in the oven or on the accessory trays because we have an exotic bird. I contacted another well known manufacturer several times and they did not respond. Waring's customer service people responded to my emails and I spoke on the phone with someone in marketing and both assured me that there are no components in any of the ovens that use a non-stick coating. They only use Teflon on their waffle makers. The oven is great as a toaster oven but they convection feature is a big plus. The circulation of hot air cuts baking time by 30% and provides more even cooking. The unit is fairly large and you could actually roast a small chicken. As a matter of fact I plan to do that soon. Thank you to Waring Pro for being so forthcoming with technical information that I could not get from other manufacturers.

... over a year ago and found it not as good as my last DeLonghi
Purchased this just over a year ago and found it not as good as my last DeLonghi. The convection oven setting takes longer to cook with than the regular setting on this model. Go figure? It cooked unevenly as well. Not terribly, but I did find i needed to rotate my pizza. The exterior was quite large so it needed lots of counter space, and therefore the interior space was sufficient for cooking pizzas, roasts, breads etc.Why Two stars then, well because the door kept getting stuck. Today while trying to open it, the glass door exploded all over the kitchen. I am not replacing it with another Waring.I came back today to add one more star. As it appears, there are very few products on the market, especially in this price range, that do not have the teflon/non stick coating inside the toaster oven. Very bad news for buyers. Even DeLonghi that has the alternative interior, it too has teflon in it's recipe. At least waring has the lesser of two evils with its stainless steel/aluminum interior.

Defective Thermostat
Prior to buying this unit we owned the digital version (TCO650) and were quite happy with it until a heating rod failure caused the unit to be useless. When shopping for a replacement the price difference between the manual and digital models caused me to purchase this unit. When the unit arrived we plugged it in and tested the different modes of operation. The Toast mode worked perfectly although we did not like the fact that you have to change all three dials to set it to toast and the darkness control is just a small sector on one dial, making it hard to reproduce results. The problem came when we tried the Bake and Convection Bake settings. By comparison, our digital model heated to temperatures of 350-375deg F in about 3 minutes and then chimed to alert you. While heating up, the power goes on and the heating rods glow orange. With this unit the heating up stage starts for a minute or so and then the thermostat starts cycling with a noticeable click going on for 6 sec and off for 15 sec. The heater rods never glow and the unit takes much longer to heat to temperature compared to the digital model with the same power rating. The unit eventually reaches temperature but nothing indicates that the oven is ready. As a result you need to wait about 10 minutes before using and even then do not know if the temperature is fully reached yet.We checked the questions section for this model and noticed that the issue of rapid cycling was posted as a question. Most answers said that while their unit cycled it did not do so rapidly. One person commented that a unit that cycled rapidly caught fire. As a result we returned the unit and will purchase a digital replacement since we feel that the interface is much more user friendly than this manual model.
