really good
This review is for the Briogeo Ultimate Hair Heros Gift Set, micro-exfoliating shampoos and deep conditioning mask.I have long straight hair that is very fine and smooth, though it’s getting a little bit more coarse from the gray hairs that are growing in. I occasionally use a clarifying shampoo and frequently use a deep conditioner midshaft to ends.Scalp Revival charcoal + coconut oil micro-exfoliating shampoo:Often times highly fragranced personal care products give me a headache but this smells *so* good- like a sweet vanilla mint. The smell isn’t overpowering and leaves a fairly faint scent behind. The color is a medium gray. The grit is visible but very fine. It has a whipped texture that’s pretty easy to scoop out with your hand. It had enough suds to easily work into the scalp and then it rinsed out easily. I used quite a bit of shampoo and didn’t have too much dry shampoo build up so I didn’t repeat a second time.Don’t Despair, Repair deep conditioning mask:This also smells good but is a little more subtle. The texture is pretty typical of a conditioning mask; it’s thick enough to coat the hair pretty well. I finger combed it through my hair and left it on for the suggested 10 minutes. This combo left my hair with more volume at the roots- it feels lighter and less heavy. The mask wasn’t super conditioning; I didn’t find it to be any better than my regular moisturizing condition. FYI I did not apply to roots as I am prone to limp and greasy roots.Overall I like this combo and find it to be a great value- individually these are each about $40. What stood out the most to me was the scalp scrub but for this discounted set price it’s definitely worth getting (and using) both of these versus the shampoo individually.

Nice set!
This is a nice shampoo and conditioner set, although it isn't really an everyday use kind of thing - or at least, I don't need it as an everyday use.The shampoo surprised me because it's a dark grey. You know, because of the charcoal. It also comes in a tub, which I'd never seen before. It has a very mild scent, mostly a light pepperminty smell while using it without much of a smell once hair is dry. When I scooped some shampoo out, I noticed the texture right away. You can feel that it's made to be an exfoliant. It doesn't feel harsh or rough on the scalp though. There are no sulfates, but it has a decent lather, which is always good. The conditioner also surprised me. It has an even more mild scent - almost like a hospital soap/antiseptic smell, but not in a bad way. It has a whipped texture, and when I applied it to my hair, and felt super soft and in a weird way, felt like it was lathering? I've used a lot of different deep conditioners, and this was a unique feeling. I liked it!Anyway, I don't need to exfoliate my scalp often, although once it's deep cold/dry winter, I get the feeling I'll reach for this more often. I'm definitely going to use the deep conditioner again because I liked the experience so much.

Good But Not Amazing...
I've always wanted to try this brand but I find it expensive for just trying. I didn't find these products to have enough slip for my hair type although I do think that the conditioner added some more strength to my hair. For this price, though, I want to be wowed. It was good but it didn't leave me hair particularly soft or ease detangling which is a deadly big deal for a curly.

Quality, but conditioner isn’t for my thin hair
My hair is fine and straight, but I have a lot of it. The shampoo is just what I needed… the conditioner is too much for my hair. So, for me, half the pack ended up being kind of obsolete. I didn’t realize that it wasn’t going to really work for me until I trialed it. It’s not bad or damaging, I just don’t benefit from the deep conditioning.
