Quality PC from HP
Have been a long time HP user. Was helping my sister find a faster computer for under $500 including tax. Couldn't find an i5 for that and i3 just wouldn't work for her. I have used AMD in the past and have been curious about the Ryzen line. once I got the PC set up and all the updates applied, I installed Passmark Performance Test 9. The CPU got a decent 8151 score. Was little disappointed in Vega 11 integrated GPU. However it was getting 24fps on the 4K Direct X 12 test. It was connected to my 4k LG OLED TV. Had some trouble with the screen blanking out occasionally. I was using HDMI cables certified for 4K so it did indeed support 4K via HDMI. Her monitor is only 1600x800 VGA and zero issues there. There was a new update to the AMD Adrenaline software so that may have solved the 4K TV issue. Just didn't have time to test it again. The PC is a good performer for the price. Has plenty of USB ports and even has one USB3.1C port on front. Built in WIFI and Bluetooth.

Great Computer with one issue
I got this computer for my office at work. I use it mainly for internet based functions, with very minimal graphic design- nothing too extreme. I love the speed and power of this computer and have been impressed with how it has worked for me (especially nice with the dual acer monitors that I got to go with it). That being said, it has one major flaw that is quite an annoyance- the built in wifi randomly turns off. This happens multiple times throughout the day, and requires me to go to the tool bar and disconnect my wifi and reconnect. This happens when the computer is idling, and even happens sometimes in the middle of browsing. This is obviously quite an issue. My wifi is fine and I have never had this problem with my laptop (I use both a mac and a windows on this same wifi) nor with my staff computers. I plan to work around this by getting a external wifi antenna and ditching the built in hardware for this machine. Aside from this issue, it's been great.

Failed almost immediately
The computer seemed to work fine right out of the box, except that I had to use Ethernet because WiFi would not connect with router, though I had been using it that was for years with my old computer. I suffered through trying to setup Windows 10, and seemed to get the system to work. However, I had to turn the computer off for an errand I had to run. When I got back, the computer locked up on the original opening screen. No matter what I did, and I carefully followed instructions, I kept being thrown back to that damned opening screen asking for my password.I finally got so disgusted after narly 3 hours of chasing my tail trying to get past that opening password screen that it dawned on me to ask Amazon for help. It was late on Friday night and I was pooped from trying to get the computer to work, so I waited until Saturday morning to call the Amazon help number.I connected to a very helpful agent who listened to my tale of woe. Practically the first thing he said was for me to send it back for credit. It took about 2 minutes for me to receive the email of the shipping label.I packaged up the computer and everything else that came with it and sent it back to Amazon this morning, Monday, 10/22/2018. I expect to hear from them soon about my refund. As it turns out, I am going to reorder the same computer because it had exactly everything I want at a good price. I figure that fate will be more kind to me this time. If not, I am not sure what I will do.Oh, BTW, I have ordered a copy of "Windows 10 for Seniors for Dummies." I think that should have been done when I originally ordered this computer.

Love everything about this desktop!
First of all, it is the most quiet computer I have ever owned. It never seems to be challenged from the standpoint of having the fan run to be able to cool down the computer.Secondly, the size and design of the computer really fits my needs. It is smaller and has the ports along one side and higher on the tower. Next, the AMD processor is running beautifully! Whether I am running multiple programs or multiple websites at the same time, the processor can easily handle it all with ease. The processor is also very quick and fast. It was noticeable how much faster this 3.6 GHz processor versus my old one at 2.9 GHz.Finally, it was easy to hook up with my new HP monitor with the HDMI cable included with my monitor and looks fantastic. I have had HP for my last three computers and at this point there is no reason for my not to have HP again. This was a great purchase at a really good price on Amazon. I would buy this one again, in a heart beat.

People writting checks at walmart are faster.
This PC is slow, it takes forever to boot up and for some weird reason I have yet to figure out, when apps or programs are in fullscreen, it flickers toward the bottom of the screen. I tried to go cheap to replace an intel quad core my mother had prior to lightning killing it and it did not pay off, I will be returning asap and getting another intel pc.

Works okay. Needs instant upgrade to be decent
Good if you don't plan on playing any new games. Recommended to buy another stick of the same ram to boost performance since they ship with single channel ram.

Nice computer for general home use.
HP Pavilion Desktop Computer, AMD Ryzen 5 2400G, 8GB RAM, 1TB hard drive, Windows 10 (590-p0040)I’ve had this for about 3 weeks now. No problems. Nice computer for general home use. Happy with the purchase.I looked at the specs on HP’s support web site. It only has a 180W power supply so don’t plan to upgrade the GPU. 8GB DDR4 2666 ram (Samsung) in one module, with a second slot open for expansion. The motherboard has three SATA ports (two used) & one M2 slot for adding additional drives. I intend to remove the SSD from my old computer and reuse it in this one. Has USB 3.1 Gen 1 on the back and front, with additional USB 3.1 Gen 2 ports on the front with the SD card reader and audio port. The motherboard has a trusted platform module to simplify encryption.

Worked right out of the box.
It has a total lack of expand-ability or upgrades.
