Microsoft 7G5-00016 Surface 3 10.8" - Intel Atom 1.6GHz, 2GB RAM, 64GB SSD

Ordered this yesterday and it duly arrived today and here I am using it to write a review about it! So I think we can safely say, it was a doddle to set up and even though I have no experience of tablets AT ALL, I am managing quite nicely already. I got this predominantly because I have to travel a lot and needed something very light and compact - certainly my work and home laptops were no good at all. It is sitting on my lap currently and even with the keyboard attached, feels no heavier than a decent daily newspaper.I noticed some people had a problem with the free year's Microsoft 365 subscription, but that must have been fixed as it is fine for me and all set up.I can't provide much in the way of any technical comment and in any case I suspect that has been covered by other reviewers. But I must say that so far I am very pleased with this device. I love how easy it is to attach/detach the magnetic keyboard. If you close it, it shuts down, and when you open it up, it goes back to where you last left off - so if you need to shut it down in a hurry, no problem. This is probably perfectly standard stuff but as I say, I have only ever used desktops and laptops so it is all new for me. The keyboard itself is rubberised so I find it easy to type on. I haven't tried using the screen keyboard yet but it is simple to switch from one to the other.Everything on the screen looks pretty much the same as on any other - everything is where I would expect it to be - you just tap on it instead of using your mouse. That will take a bit of getting used to, but I don't mind as the main thing for me is keeping "connected" while staying in hotels, and this device appears to be absolutely perfect for that.

I bought this tablet for my son who is at uni. He loves it and finds it both powerful and useful in may ways - not only as a tool for recording and researching information, but because he can link it with his phone and desktop computer pretty much seamlessly. We searched around for the best deal and found this one to be good and delivery was speedy. The surface 3 is not the latest incarnation, but this one seems to be good value with a spec that satisfies my son's requirements in terms of processing power, memory and bundled apps. He is certainly pleased with it.

Really like this tablet. I prefer this size than the larger one; it's much more convenient when travelling. Good quality for viewing films etc & Office 365 works well. Also compatible with iTunes & Sky Go. I bought another one for my daughter.

I have been using this AMAZING device for the last 3 days and it handled every thing I needed super fast, I didn't have time to play games on it . I will update this review once I do. recommend

A low power but surprisingly versatile tablet that ends up being a full productivity laptop replacement attached to a good mechanical keyboard (provided you don't mind the lower power)

Perfect for my daughter who is doing her A levels, bought the student/office software to go with it.

Perfect replacement for my old tablet and runs the same operating programme as my laptop
