More versatile than it looks.
I was very positively surprised by this "gaming" laptop. Thanks to its powerful HX 370 processor which has a very good iGPU, I actually keep its 4070 discrete GPU disabled most of the time. It is completely silent and has a good battery life. The first thing I did was to immediately format the PC and reinstall with a fresh win11 USB. Despite having disabled armoury crate in the BIOS beforehand it still installed some Asus services, which I disabled. No software bloatware though after the reinstall though. Be aware that the driver for the wifi chip on this model is not included in the win11 install USB media. You need to download it from Asus and put it on the drive or use Ethernet.I then installed g-helper. It is immensely useful. I set the CPU mode to silent, and GPU to ECO which disables the discrete GPU. The PC is silent most of the time and I expect around 9 hours of battery life in normal usage. There is plenty of power in reserve if needed for more complex tasks. The screen is good. I keep it at 60hz to maximise battery life. As with the rest of the system, its ability to do 165Hz can be useful when needed.I did not install any Asus software, but I did install the AMD tools. With it one can allocate RAM to the iGPU. I set it at 8GB leaving the rest of the system at 24GB. I wish it was completely seamless. It is great that it has a second port for NVMe drives, which I am planning to use. Some issues:* BIOS update seems to not work with bitlocker encryption. As Bitlocker encryption is desirable and enabled by default, I am surprised Asus did or could not design its BIOS updates with this in mind.* It is a bit heavier than I would have preferred but I am happy with this purchase.* Would have been a nice gesture to include a 100W USB4 charger with such an expensive PC. There is a large 200W power brick with its special port, which would be needed for intense use. For daily use and travel a USB-C charger would be a good purchase.

Great machine just a bit pricey
Great machine, plays most modern games well. 7DTD, FS25, Forever Skies, Roadcraft and Stranded Deep to name a few.Its a shame that Microsoft Windows 11 wont let me run my old favourites. cause they are too old.Power pack can run very hot, but is expected due to the amount of power it is drawing through it.Has travelled well, mine has been to Amsterdam and Seville, and it still runs very well.By the way this review is being written on it right now.

Perfect for gaming
As the main headline says, this laptop will not disappoint you if you want to play any available game.I have tried most of the latest and demanding games and all of them run really smoothly with all the graphic settings maxed out. I recommend setting the games to ''balanced'' for DLSS as that will look 90-95% identical to the ''visual'' option and it will offer much more frames. Generally, the components that this laptop has are doing a pretty good job giving the fact that the RTX4070 is not as strong as the desktop version. For a budget gaming laptop, you can't ask for more.Apart of the performance, I really have to praise the screen which is really crisp with vibrant colours. The QHD resolution (with 165Hz too) really makes a big difference and you will notice that in games. The only negative aspect I have for this laptop is related to the audio quality which is still a mere average I would say. The quality has improved a bit from the previous versions of TUF laptops but not by far. And generally what I refer to is about the loudness of the speakers which was a main issue in the past. I recommend to not enable spatial sound so you can have the best experience. For those interested in the build quality, in my opinion it looks the same as the previous versions of TUF. For sure do not expect the same build quality you have on a ROG Zephyrus but overall it feels pretty sturdy.

Gets hot but I really like it
The ASUS TUF Gaming FX507ZC4 15.6" Full HD 144Hz Gaming Laptop is a solid choice for gamers looking for performance and reliability. The combination of an Intel i5-12500H processor and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 graphics card delivers smooth gameplay and fast rendering speeds, ensuring an enjoyable gaming experience. The 15.6" Full HD display with a 144Hz refresh rate provides crisp visuals and smooth motion, enhancing gaming immersion. Additionally, the 512GB PCIe SSD offers ample storage space for games and other media files, allowing for quick load times and smooth system performance. One downside is the 8GB RAM, which may feel somewhat limiting for multitasking or running memory-intensive applications. However, this can be upgraded if needed to accommodate more demanding tasks.Overall, the ASUS TUF Gaming FX507ZC4 offers great value for its price point, providing reliable performance and impressive gaming capabilities. It's a solid choice for gamers on a budget who still want a powerful gaming laptop.

Handles Fortnite / Roblox (Max graphic) / Minecraft at 30+ Chunks Like nothing
I bought this gaming laptop to treat myself after using an office laptop to play games for almost 3 years and it handles better than most proper pc setups, highly recommend for gaming mid / high end, came with some cool quality stickers to customise the thing and has impressed me so far, only mentions are the fans and heat can sometimes be a little hot / loud when you play for a long time, but like I said, it's a must buy for its price and specs 👍
