JVC KW-V840BT compatible with Android Auto / Apple CarPlay CD/DVD Stereo / JVC WebLink

AM radio does not get any stations. Was told it was my location. Have not tried it on road yet. The angle of the screen could be better, although it is probably the angle of my dash. Otherwise I like it.

Meh... Sound quality is not the best. Despite multiple attempts at adjusting the audio settings I'm still not completely satisfied. I have good quality pioneerSpeakers. Also, pushing and holding the volume up button only works to level 15. After that you have to push it for every level up to max at 40. There is no mute button. The DVD interface is a bit confusing, too. On screen functions overlap. Touching the screen to push the chapter select brings up a menu... the remote is no help. I do like the clean and simple appearance.

I love this stereo/deck. It has a great EQ with a ton of presets. I have it running with 2 Alpine amps with a Bazooka Tube. I have the adapter to trick it to thinking it is parked, so I can have DVD's playing. It integrates with the iPhone and the JVC app. If you are using Waze instead of maps, you need to connect your phone via bluetooth otherwise you won't have any music. Waze takes over the screen on the deck and on your phone. As soon as you change phone screens it turns off the Waze on the deck. I miss having a volume knob, but it does have an onscreen mute function which comes in handy. The screens are sometimes slow to respond, but overall I really love this deck. Voice texting through the deck comes in handy. I like the way it reads your text messages.

Sound quality great.Regretfully a problem getting the unit to connect with Samsung S8 and S9 so Waze and Android Auto does not work without a tweek. Using an old phone which is recognized and having it connected to a wifi hotspot on my newer Samsung. Too messy so I really regret the purchase now.

Stereo has great sound quality and I did not install an amp, but you have to spend alot of time adjusting equalizer, crossover, gain, and delays. For me it's ok. I put it in a 2007 Chevy Trailblazer LS, fit perfect. Some people may not like having to run an exterior mic and wire to steering wheel column but it is closer to you and you can talk normal without yelling. The little mic glued on top of steering column looks cool to me, it won't bother you at all. Also, I connect this to a Samsung galaxy S8 Active, no problem.

Had an Android radio but it was a pos. I replaced it with this JVC car play unit and I love it! It’s very easy to install and setup. Great price point for a CarPlay unit!

Always crashing had to send it out for service already and it is going out for service for the second time features are fantastic i only with it wasnt like pulling teath to get them to work

I installed this in my truck and love it! I also purchased the XM-radio kit and love it too! Downloads the album info and you can pause and restart songs on XM!Apple car play rocks too!

Apple car play only works sometimes. Bluetooth never works. Save your money
