Exactly what I needed- never dries out
I use this for smaller parts and it works great to stop resin from running. I found it was hard to get smooth for silicone molds, but others seem to be able to use it for that purpose. Has a number of uses and because it comes out of the bag ready to use, and doesn't dry out, it is very convenient.

It is good, but not great, plastiline clay.
This is a high quality oil-based plastiline clay for sculpting. As I make sculptures that are then made into silicone molds, the fact that this is sulfur – free is essential. As many of you know, even a tiny bit of sulfur will prevent platinum – based silicone from setting!I usually use Roma Plastilina, as it is the best Clay ever made, in my humble opinion. If you Are working with platinum-based silicone, though, that is not an option. This is a good second choice. It works relatively well, and alcohol is pretty good for smoothing it. Having said that, it is no Roma Plastilina.

Perfect for my Diorama!
The oil based clay is perfect for my diorama! I'm not some expert artist by any means, and I tend to flesh-out my art projects as I go.Originally I had purchased standard pottery clay for my scene, and later realized that with my method of 'work a little here, a little there' was going to cause drying out issues, and probably shrinkage issues, as well.Long story short, I bought the oil-based clay a month or so ago, and I've been working on my diorama weekly. The moisture, or playability hasn't changed! I cover my project with a towel, when I know I'm done for the day, to keep the dust from getting on (and in) my diorama. Not having the threat of my project drying out, takes the stress out of the situation, allows me to conceptualize on-the-move and think through the obstacles as they come.I couldn't be happier with this purchase!

Using with Silicone Rubber to Reproduce Parts Missing from Antique Picture Frame
This is hard clay, but it softens up quickly from the heat of your hands after kneading. I've used this twice to make a mold of a part of an antique picture frame. This oil-based clay is used to make a "dam" around the sides and bottom of the frame so that the silicone rubber doesn't flow out the sides. The first time, I just pressed the shapes around the section of frame I wanted to reproduce and the silicone rubber passed right out of the bottom. I thought I'd have to throw out the clay but a week later I tried it again, being careful to use my thumb to spread it out from the sides and bottom of the dam merging the pieces together. That worked beautifully and there was no leakage. That brings the cost down, as the liquid silicone rubber that got all over the clay didn't damage it. I keep the clay in three plastic bags inside of each other. It can be used over and over again.

Great hole filler
I know what I ended up using this for isn't the typical use case for the product, but it still managed to work great for filling the cavity of a wall pass through for refrigeration lines. I installed a few Daikin mini splits on my house that came with some Plasticine, although not nearly enough for how thick my walls were. If you are installing a mini split, consider getting some more of this to help ensure everything is sealed up nice and tight.

Clay base for silicone rubber
Not what I needed it for, but sure I can use it for something else.
