Great Quality and Very Reliable
This camera is by far the best IP camera I've owned. I've had it for about 6 months. Below are my impressions on this little unit. Image Quality: Though it's only a 720p image, the quality overall is superb. Clear images and great at capturing motion. Color rendering (i.e. white balance) is very accurate and did not need any adjustment from the factory setting. I would suspect that if you intend to use it in a setting other than outdoors - or supplemented by artificial lighting - you may have to adjust it in order to achieve a pleasing image. Nighttime performance is also very good. In my setup I have a 60 watt equivalent CFL and that provides sufficient lighting for the area it monitors. I was impressed by its ability to handle a backlighting in the monitoring area and still be able to render the rest of the scene nicely. Field of view: This is an area where I have an issue with the camera, but not so much as to knock it down a star. The field of view is 81 degrees horizontally. I would have liked to see 90 degrees or more for in order to cover a bit more area with just one camera. Axis makes other products with a wider field of view, but none that are as compact and unobtrusive as this one. So, since I wanted something discrete, i was stuck with a narrower field of view.Configuration: The configuration options are extensive, from motion detection to camera tampering alerts, to time synching and many more. Configuration is accomplished via its menu-based web interface. The interface is snappy and provides the option to access it securely via HTTPS, a huge plus for a security camera. You will need to have Java installed to access all the configuration options. Weather Resistance: The camera is IP66 rated and so far has stood up to all mother nature has thrown at it in my region of the country (Mid-Atlantic). I have it mounted about 2-3 inches from the edge of the garage eave, so it gets pretty wet on a regular basis. Motion Sensing: I have this camera set up to sense motion in its monitoring area and the adjustability to record only motion of significance allows me to keep swaying trees from setting it off. Motion sensing can trigger a host of responses ranging from recording, to real time notification.Storage: The camera has an SD slot for on-board storage capabilities, but it also has other options. You can configure it to store to an FTP server, you local computer (provided you leave it on all the time) or your NAS, effectively providing gobs of storage options for archiving footage. Power: Power over Ethernet (PoE) is really the best alternative for these types of cameras. One wire and done. It eliminates the need to run a separate power cable or to install a new outlet to support the camera. Sure, you need to buy a power injector or a PoE switch, but in the end it is cheaper than hiring an electrician to run a new outlet. Installation: Super easy to install. If you can drill holes and screw in some screws, you can install this. It just takes a little bit of planning, but it can be installed in less than an hour. Cons: It is expensive for what it is. As home automation solutions improve, the cost of these types of cameras should come down. Also as I mentioned above, the field of view is not as wide as I would prefer, but it is workable. Overall it is a great camera and I'm pleased with its performance and quality. The camera has been rock steady and has run continuously without a hiccup since I've had it configured (several months), something I cannot say for many of the IP cameras I've tried over the years. I would recommend this camera to both homeowners and businesses looking for a reliable and high quality security camera.

Not remotely view-able
This is a neat little camera with a decent quality picture for it's size. But unfortunately I was not able set it up for my client to view remotely on his smartphone or PC. I could only view it on the local network it was plugged into, so back it goes to Axis. I consider myself to be somewhat technologically savvy. In my work as a private investigator, I always look for discreet, well-built cameras.I spent almost two hours on the phone yesterday with Axis technical support, and another two with my ISP. Axis kept telling me I needed to set up port forwarding on my router, which I did to no avail. So I called my ISP, who kept telling me I needed to call Axis, who kept telling me I call my ISP. After four hours of this, I had really bad heartburn and was on the brink of insanity.I did learn a good lesson from this though - no more PoE cameras. Never again.
