The 90mm long and 7mm thick fire steel is embedded in a milled stainless steel handle and provides up to 2,000 ignitions. The resulting sparks burn up to 2000 ° C hot and ignite almost any tinder.Fire steels have the advantage of not being affected in their function of wetness or thin air and cold. Of course, the steel may be used with the Spine of a knife, instead with a Striker or the Allemans Knife.Caution: Never use the blade of the knife, as the heat could damage the cutting edge permanently!
