Powerful, Quiet, and Built Like a Tank!
I’ve been using this DEWALT wet/dry vac since February, and it’s easily one of the best shop vacs I’ve owned. The suction power is fantastic—whether it’s sawdust, drywall debris, or water cleanup, it handles everything with ease. What really sets this unit apart is how quiet it is. The STEALTHSONIC noise reduction is no joke—it’s noticeably quieter than my previous vacs, which is a huge plus in a workshop setting. The build quality is classic DEWALT—sturdy, durable, and made to last. The 12-gallon capacity is perfect for big jobs, and the wheels make it easy to move around. I also love the onboard accessory storage and the easy-to-use drain for wet cleanup. If you’re looking for a heavy-duty, low-noise vac that performs like a pro, this is the one to get. 100% satisfied with this purchase!

I enthusiastically told my neighbor about it, it's great!
So this has a good vacuum hose size, while the unit is small and maneuverable. The bin for the vacuum is on the smaller size, but that's works fine for me. I use the DeWalt cyclone filter and find that it is more convenient to open/close compared to my old homemade cyclone filter, and it makes up easily for the small volume or the main bin.The only downside for some applications is that this does *not* have the bidirectional or normal exhaust/intake features to comparable shop vacuums. The exhaust has a muffler, and the overall design of the vacuum leaves it vastly quieter than my previous shop vacuums. Ok, it's not silent or anything, but it makes the vacuum process much more comfortable. It is possible that my experience with the vacuum is particularly positive because I have the cyclone filter in line, a paper bag filter, then the hepa-like filter for the main filter. I *suspect* this vacuum would lose power faster than a comparable not-quiet shop vac, if it's filters clogged up. The filters I have in line mean the vacuum has been working great with minimal maintenance!Having many parts to the system makes this a bulky shop vac setup. But it's not difficult to move the cyclone filter, vacuum, and tubes to another location in a workshop and connect to a tool or to vacuum a mess because the parts are individually smaller than a single big shop vacuum would be.So back to the headline. One day I started spontaneously telling my neighbor about this shop vacuum I love, *without* being prompted. Yeah, he was using power tools, but he definitively didn't ask me to talk about shop vacuums. that's when I realized I should write a review online

Very quiet
It's a DeWalt so you know it's going to be high quality, and it is. It's also as described very quiet, if you've ever used very many shop vacs in your life when you turn this thing on you'll absolutely notice the difference instantly and it seems to have the same amount of suction as any other Shop Vac of that size and Power. I bought one for my dad who already had a couple of other shop vacs and now it's his go-to shop vac.

Really is quieter
I was looking to replace a 12 gallon wet/dry vac that I use in my woodworking shop with one that was more quiet. When I looked for one last year, the ones available were all very pricey and sold by high-end companies, putting them out of my budget range. Then I saw this DeWalt model for just over $200. I received it and ran a side by side comparison with the noisy one that's been bugging me for the last few years. Wow! Just what I wanted. My shop is much quieter and I am working with a smile on my face.

Best shop-vac I've ever used
I would give it 5 stars, except for the one issue with the irritating hose (described toward the end of this review, along with a solution). Super quiet, and strong suction. Easy to empty and clean the filter. It's everything you want your shop-vac to be. No regrets on this purchase. The issue I had with the hose is that it is fairly stiff and resists twisting -- which can make it difficult to keep your head attachment oriented properly for the work you're trying to do. The hose attachment at the body of the vac has a built-in swivel function, but somehow it still fights you by refusing to twist. I fixed the problem by ordering a separate swivel accessory ($15) which I installed at the "business end" of the hose (in addition to the other swivel already at the vac body). I now find the hose to be manageable while I'm working -- as it can swivel at both ends, instead of fighting against my work. Here's the product link for that swivel accessory https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08LQTKCQ4

WOW! Shocking Improvement in Sound
I've been using (perfectly fine) 12 gal Rigid vacuums with dust separators in certain workstations (rather than a large whole shop dust collection setup). This has worked great functionally, but the vacuums run at about 82db. This is not an issue when being used at the tools as I am always wearing hearing protection anyway. It is however an issue for my roaming vacuum setup, which I use for general cleanup purposes. I saw a review of this vacuum and the claims of lowered sound, so decided I needed to try it out. HOLY COW! This thing is very quiet with the same power compared to the Rigid vacs. In my testing, this runs at 67db and is so much more comfortable to use for my general cleanup purposes. I whole-heartedly recommend this vac!
