It works great for emulators and Cardboard VR games
Tested on my OnePlus 3T. It works great for emulators and Cardboard VR games. The button layout is familiar, and the controller is comfortable to hold. The media buttons, while I don't get much use out of them, are convenient when they're needed. The mount is handy, my only complaint being that if I mount the phone dead-centre, it holds down my power button. However, pushing the phone to the side does not significantly change how the controller feels (nor does it make the mount any less secure), and you don't notice it during gameplay. The 2xAAA batteries requirement is a little unusual in this day and age, but nothing worth shouting about.Overall I'm very happy with this. Not laggy, doesn't feel/look tacky and has good compatibility with everything I've thrown at it.

Good for Android gaming
Good for Android gaming. The quality of the material feels premium. But is lacking of configuration support on Mobile. For this price I was expecting definitely more. The support for desktop is not existent. Barely working on Win. Not recognized by Mac or Ubuntu but did not put too much effort in it.

This is an excellent android compatible Gamepad with a layout and design quite ...
This is an excellent android compatible Gamepad with a layout and design quite blatantly 'borrowed' from the superb 360 controller.Although it was designed to be used with Mad Catz's own M.O.J.O. android console, it works via standard bluetooth and i have had no problem syncing with both my Tesco Hudl2 and my Minix Neo X7 media player. I have mainly been using this on emulators which takes a little bit of fiddling depending on which emulator you are using. It doesn't appear to be 100% compatible with all android games but again this will depend on how configurable each game is.The main reason i chose this over cheaper controller is the very handy mouse feature. Using a slide switch at the bottom you can use the controller to emulate a mouse which i found very useful, especially on touch screen apps on the minix. There is also a row of media buttons with pause rewind etc but i haven't had much use for them on any apps I'm using. There are only a couple of minor niggles I have with this controller, the buttons felt very 'clicky' for the first couple of weeks of use, though they seem to have bedded in now, they still don't feel as comfortable as gamepads from Microsoft or Sony (but still leagues ahead of some of Mad Catz's earlier console controllers) I would also rather have had a built in rechargeable battery than running off AAA's but they do seem to last quite well.It also includes an adjustable clip so you can attach your phone to the top and use at as a portable, I only tested this once as it wasn't the reason i bought this but it did work ok. So there's a lot of excellent features here which justifies the higher price tag compared to some other android gamepads. Recommended.

I think probably the best way to describe this controller is **** poor
I think probably the best way to describe this controller is **** poor. I bought it primarily to replace my old 360 controller which I used on PC, and to go with some of my other Mad Catz products. Shame, since my Mad Catz mouse works fine, but this controller simply doesn't work for PC as advertised. First of all most games I've tried it with don't recognise that there is a controller connected to my PC via bluetooth so to play those games I've had to install a 360 controller emulator. The game I've attempted to play this with most is Rocket League, which worked fine with my 360 controller (only reason I replaced it was the wireless connector had become faulty). When it's working I'll either get about a half second delay to any of the movements I make or the car will move on it's own without me touching anything. Not a fault with the game, as it works fine with keyboard. So in conclusion, if you want to have to install 3rd party content just to make this controller still not work with your PC then this is definitely worth the £39.99.Seriously, just buy a standard 360 controller for PC (or xbox one, the more recent model).

Three possible connections only one works as it supposed to.
When I saw this product I thought it was to good to be true. If you are looking a gamepad for tablet gameplay only it will do the job. If You thinking using it for pc gameplay forget about it. Huge compatibility issues with many new games ( dragon age inquisition, tomb raider, mortal kombat and many more). I opened a ticket to madcatz help desk and I was advised from them to open tickets with the game developers. Good build quality but I haven't managed to use it a lot so I can verify how long it will last.

Fine on Amazon Fire Phone and Tablets, but no driver for Mac OSX El Capitan (v10.11.1)
Despite the claim that the Mad Catz C.T.R.L.R gamepad is Apple Mac OSX compatible, that is presumably under the assumption that the product is not intended for a responsible individual that keeps their OSX version current. For example, current OSX version at the time of writing this article is 10.11.1 (El Capitan). I could not find a driver (closest version available is for OSX 10.9), so contacted Mad Catz Europe Technical Support, who wrote:"Please be advised that for the moment we do not have released the drivers and software for the latest MAC OS and your controller will not work on the latest OSX 10.11.1 without the drivers installed. Please be advised also that we do not have news about when the drivers will be released."I did try it on Amazon Fire Phone and Tablets and this worked well.
