ARCTIC FOX 100% VEGAN SEMI PERMANENT HAIR COLOUR DYE (4oz, POSEIDON)

I really don't know what people expect when they purchase a SEMI-PERMANENT hair dye and expect it work on dark hair or not to fade away with each wash. I love arctic fox, the vibrancy, the smell, it's cruelty free and it does last longer than most semi-permanent colours. The only reason I mark it 4 stars is because it is quite expensive but the bigger bottle is certainly the better value of the two sizes and I can make it with some very simple steps that every person who dyes their hair should know:1. Don't wash your hair. Okay, not maybe not forever- but leave it as long as you can. Dry shampoo is my friend. I accept this is easier for people with thicker hair like mine but it's not good to wash your hair everyday anyway. I can leave mine about 4 days. 5 when I'm feeling lazy. If you're going to wash your hair everyday, you're not going to have very colourful hair for long.2. When you do wash your hair, wash it in COLD water. Not lukewarm. Yes, cold. If you can't stand a cold shower, don't expect your hair colour to last washing it in hot water and then blame the product. Hot water opens up the follicles on the hair shaft and thus the colour strips off. If you absolutely cannot bear the cold- shower-cap in a hot shower and wash your hair in the sink with cold water.3. If you can, skip every other shampoo and just condition. Some people say sulphate free and colour protect shampoos help colour last longer but I've never seen any difference using these compared to 'normal' shampoos. Sulphate free is great for the condition of your hair anyway so go ahead and use it, but if you can afford to skip the 'poo and just condition, this is another great help for keeping your colour.4. Mix some of your colour with your conditioner, ideally a white conditioner and again sulphate free is best, you don't need a lot just enough to change the colour of your conditioner. I use this maybe once a month or whenever I notice my hair needs a pick me up. Just do the standard, rub it in and leave it for 5 minutes in the shower and rinse with cold water. This will just top up the colour and use less product than re-dying all over again.5. Ditch the heat. I'm being a hypocrite here. I blow-dry and straighten / curl my hair as soon as I get out of the shower. My hair is too thick to let dry naturally otherwise I just cannot style it. I've managed to reduce the effect heat has on my colour by using a microfiber towel to dry my hair about 80% and using all my heat tools on a low - mid heat with plenty of thermal protection spray. If you can ditch the heat all together, minus special occasions, do!Anyway, I think arctic fox is brilliant, vibrant, easy to mix, smells great. So many reasons to love it. Just another tip which I see a lot of complaints on; arctic mist is a DILUTER, not a white hair dye. Use this to dilute colours to more pastel shades. Frankly a white sulphate free conditioner does the same thing though :)Hope this helps some people with their fading dilemma!

Amazing product. So happy with the result.. I usually get my hair colour at the hairdressers but thought I would give this ago and I'm so glad I did.. best hair colour out there and trust me I've used them all..

Used some in my hair (brown hair) and it didn’t take sadly but I wasn’t expecting it to how ever used it on my bleach blonde extensions I just got and they made the most beautiful blue colour I ever seen and I highly recommend they also smell like bubble gum

Really nice colour even on dark hair! As a Vegan I find it hard to find cruelty free hair dye but this is perfect and I love the fact that some of the money goes to charities that help stop animal testing! 🎉🌲🥦

The product was excellent. A few other reviews are saying that the product didn't stick well on their hair. I'd like to warn you: you can't go into this with your naturally dark hair and expect the colour to stick as you picture it to. You need to lighten your hair first for it to stick correctly (or how you'd like it to) The product is great if used correctly, one of my favourite brands. IT SMELT LIKE G R A P E. Definitely recommend!!

I love this colour. In a way it's a pity it washes out after a while, but I can see that people want to go back to "normal" again. Me? I'm going to stay blue for a while longer. lol

This is the absolute best hair dye I have ever used! It smells amazing and it's cruelty free but it also doesn't run when you're out in the rain or transfer onto clothes. I regularly colour my hair but had moved away from 'wacky' colours because I couldn't rely on them to be colour fast but I have no worry with this.

Love this stuff. Great colour and great scent. Hard to get off skin though so careful with application!

Perfect. Worked well on my sons brunette hair ... it did fade within a week or 2 but as it's my son and don't want it to last too long...I'm happy with that!

Save your money totally crap, say will last up to 40 washes. I followed the instructions completely and only last 2 washes.

When first dying my hair it came out an awesome blue that I’ve struggled to find anywhere (my colour was blue lengths and bleached roots).
