The pointer is smart and professional looking with nice flashy red and white ...
I was forced to buy this because my Garret Pro Pointer has went on the blink and keeps falsing, which is a common problem. I was going to replace it with the new Garret AT but no one has it in stock. The pointer is smart and professional looking with nice flashy red and white decals and it came with a black nylon pouch, which does not fit a standard size web belt so I used the Garrets. It weighs just under 20g, the same weight as the Garret but for some reason feels heavier. Out in the field pressing the on button with gloves on was a problem, it's flush to the case and requires a good solid press so I had to remove my gloves to press it and this started to become a real pain in the frost and low light of a UK winter. I don't see the need for a sensitivity button either as I want it full on all of the time but that's the route they all want to take so we're stuck with it. On the plus side it is sensitive, more so than the black Garret, and you would hope it would be for the price. So the Pro Find is ok but loses to the black Garret on a few things, mainly the stiff buttons. Happy hunting!

Minelab Pro find easy to use acurate good range
I used the Minicab pro find 25 pin pointer for the first time -my choices were the garrett or the minelab - I found it easy to use, accurate, with good range, seems quite well designed and the buttons are simple to use, it saved me digging huge holes and speeded up my search rate significantly. The ability to make a series of bleeps /vibrate with increasing intensity the nearer you are to the object is useful Conditions were dry, the ground I was digging in was fairly clayey dry on a hard pan layer but the pointer still detected a range of finds at good distance every time,

A MISSED OPPORTUNITY
When I bought mine it was closer to £130 and the price now seems to have been reduced to sell better - if it had come in at the sub-£100 price point on launch day I'm sure more detectorists would use this pointer as it would have undercut the very popular Garrett Pro-Pointer II.I found the Pro-Find 25 to give very good air tests compared to the Garrett probes but didn't perform as well as promised in ground and while that does not make it a bad probe it is disappointing since Minelab had years to work on this and should have had the aim of bettering the much older Garrett probe - unfortunately they fell short as the reduced (in-ground) detecting depth, lack of a scraper on the side of the probe and lack of full waterproofing makes the superior Garrett AT probe a better choice. It may seem strange that I am giving this 4 stars (I like it) but if you have never used anything else you will think it is great - However there are better probes out there at not much more money.Summary: A frustrating, missed opportunity by Minelab and I was personally disappointed the lack of effort they put in here since I love their metal detectors and would recommend them to anyone.
