New favorite portable amp.
I've had several of these small amplifiers. My favorite until now was the Lepai 2020+, by it was only a two channel Amp. I built a pair of bookshelf speakers and a small sub to use on a couple 2.1 amps that I bought over the years, but none of them ended up being worth the purchase price, and my DIY 2.1 speakers went into a closet for a few years waiting for something better to come along.Something better finally showed up, and this one, this one I like! It actually has a functional, adjustable low pass filter for the sub that does a good job. It has a sub volume control knob to blend the woofer in with the mains. It also has bass and treble controls for the main stereo speaker pair as well. The volume knob turns all three speakers down, as it should be. Something one of the old amps didn't do.I'm powering this amp with a 24v 5amp power supply. My homemade 2.1 speakers are 4ohm and fairly sensitive, although I don't remember the numbers. When powering on, I heard no "pop" and I tried it several times. This amp drives them plenty loud. Loud enough that my wife got up and went downstairs. She said it was overpowering the TV in the kitchen at times. The highs are crystal clear and the bass is tight and we'll defined. It sounds every bit as good as the Lepai, but with more volume, maybe better, I'd have to do a head to head. It's clear and undistorted up to about 2/3 or so volume, as is typical with many amps. Some of that could be my speakers or may be remedied with a higher wattage power supply. Either way its plenty loud as is.The only con I can think of is the powered LED. Why it's constantly on, I don't know. Would have been better if it turned off when the amp turned off. Oh, nitpicking here, but the labels; Volume, bass, treble, etc... are difficult to read because of the color and they are a bit blurry. Also it would have been better if they were placed above the knobs instead of under them.Still, five stars from me. Great little amp.

Good bang for buck 2.1 amplifier
Great 2.1 amplifer. Gets plenty loud even at half volume with my Yamaha bookshelf speakers and passive subwoofer on 16g speaker wire. I have a FiiO E10 pre-amp DAC running with the device and the sound is great. It only has one RCA left-right audio input and has left, right, and sub outputs.Couple of things to note:1) Control knobs are pretty sensitive.2) Speakers need to be “off” when disconnecting or connecting the power cable (which isn’t included).3) Speaker outputs all use banana plugs.4) Plugs are close to each other and easy to short. Use heat shrink or electrical tape to isolate the connectors.5) There are no instructions on how to use the device.I’ve found tuning to be a bit difficult. The treble and bass are your only tuning knobs for the system as a whole. Bass volume and Freq tuning knobs seem to solely affect the subwoofer. The freq controls the crossover for the subwoofer (how high freq the sub will play), and the bass volume controls how loud the subwoofer plays. I find myself playing with the knobs quite a bit and still trying to find the best setting.Case is very sturdy and knobs have a solid feel to them. Could be a little easier to use but for the price it’s a decent no-frills amplifier.

Not a bad amp once you understand how to use it.
I am pleased with the performance of the amp. It however, does not put out its stated power. It gets loud enough for me, however. One note, the power switch is not for power. It is a speaker disconnect. You cannot set this amp up and expect to turn it on and off by controlling the AC power to it. It will make a most horrendous noise and possibly destroy your speakers. You must turn the "power switch" on and off to use it properly. The red led on its front lights when power is applied. You can then turn it on. You must provide a reliable 24VDC @ 5 amp power supply to get any reasonable performance.

Powerful and clean, even at 12v!
While too powerful for my choice of speakers, this unit sounds crystal clear when applied to both my 3" Daytons and my 3.5" -tiny- Tang Band Subwoofer. I applied it to Sony bookshelf speakers and Pioneer Jones Models as well with a 12" Rockford and it even drives the mid-to-value range speakers with good clarity and precision throughout the spectrum. Drives 4ohm speakers at 3/4 volume (LOUD) for several hours without getting hot, If your space is limited and you want great features, look no further.Update: Put this onto a 19V PS, a pair of Polk R50s and a Samsung Passive Sub from my HT9730, and I'm going to say it sounds fantastic for Vocals Rivaling Even My Pioneer Elite 702 on the same speakers with a 12" Sub. Super props.Pros: Subwoofer volume and crossover control, excellent power.Cons: Tiny control knobs, crossover does not affect left and right output. - Standby light is too bright.Important: Check your speaker wattage, this thing does deliver.

Pretty powerful for such a small unit
It has a defense mechanism that will protect it from getting fried, which I think is great. Will do the job and provide the rated watts. Only problem is that its sold without the power cord which is a terrible nuisance. They should bundle it and avoid the customer the risk of purchasing an incorrect power supply, any customer would pay the extra for the precise power supply.

No power supply or manual.
Works ok but it doesn’t come with a power supply or directions. Voltage and amp rating was a guess but it seems to work with 12v and 1.5 amp supply and drives small speaker but I wouldn’t use it for large projects or multiple speakers.

While build quality looked good, it wasn't
While build quality looked good, it wasn't. The base control pot created static popping and noise when turned. The input noise filtering was so bad unit was not usable and I ended up returning it. Loud hum, hiss, etc. on input that would go away when disconnected from music source. I had another 2 channel S.M.S.L amp on that same setup that did not have any noise issues but wanted to upgrade to a 2.1 setup to add a subwoofer. I ended up going with the new Dayton Audio DTA-2.1BT 100W Class D 2.1 Amplifier with Bluetooth and Power Supply from Parts Express.
