RAD Cycle Products Prozone Smooth Magnetic Resistance Bike Trainer

I purchased this trainer specifically for the 3 winter months I am spending in Northern Oregon. I wanted something sturdy that I could use and watch sports to get my exercise when it's raining. Well, that's what I got. When I opened the package, I needed to look at the instructions (not something I do first automatically). On the instructions, it suggested that the mag fly wheel would be attached to the frame, which it was not. So after a couple attempts and about 40 minutes with some trial and error making sure my bike wheel touched, I got it to work.The Pros: feels relatively sturdy, comes with the front wheel stand, and remote shifter.The Cons: I feel like the bike's gears do more than the shifter it came with. There is not a place on my bike for the remote shifter to go. Altogether, not sure this thing is going to last more than one or two seasons. It's a no frills bike trainer. So I am happy with the price for what I needed, allowing me to avoid a gym membership for 3 months. If you want something where you can push yourself more, and last longer, I would fork out the extra $$$ for one of the premier trainers.

So I too have a great bike and was looking to keep going while inside. Well I received it and it came with the typical Amazon box, but when I opened it I saw the product box and it looked like it had been in a fight. It was open on one side and as I took it out the pieces fell out. The instructions indicated that it was assembled. Nope it was not. I had to look up online for assembly manual since the one it came with assumed that was all done. After wrestling with this and trying to decipher the tiny photos and after a nasty finger cut I put it together. I tried to get it going but the handle bar attachment was broken. It was actually in two pieces in the plastic bag that it came in and looked as though it was placed into the bag like that. The magnet movement had no resistance and it was incredibly loud. I have wood floors so this only made it louder and unusable. I am returning this and will most likely not try another brand or style. Perhaps I should just go out and ride my bike outside like a regular person.

I was a little leery to order this item due to some of the negative reviews, but it was a gift for my husband, and what he wanted, so I went ahead and ordered. Sure enough, when it arrived and he started to put it together there was a piece that was broken. The broken piece was in a sealed plastic bag which was in the sealed box, so it obviously was something that happened at the factory where it was built. We contacted Customer Service via email, and we were very pleasantly surprised.We got a quick response and we were asked to scan a copy of our Amazon receipt as proof of purchase, and after they received that, we were told that a replacement part would be shipped promptly. Sure enough, a couple of days later it arrived on our doorstep.We understand that things like this can occasionally happen, and we don't make a big deal out of it as long as the company is able and willing to rectify the mistake. The bike trainer now works great, and I can't say enough about the fantastic customer service of the RAD Cycle company.

comes ready to assemble. terrible instructions. at least some decent pictures would have been nice that is the only thing that saved me since the instructions were for a different kind of bike. says it fits any bike....but means any bike with a quick release rear wheel. would have been good to know this. made it work for my bike, but was very frustrating. once I got my bike into it and had it working it does its job.

I am very unhappy with this product I bought this trainer with an open mind not paying attention to the bad reviews, but after receiving and opening the box I noticed the instructions and the front Wheel Anti Slip Pad were missingAmazon has the trainer on sale from $179 to $69 which makes you think you're getting a good deal, but that's not the case the product quality is very poor and is made in China. I don't recommend this product save your money and buy a quality trainer.

After reading some poor reviews I was a little skeptical, but this trainer is awesome. Few of the bright spots, this thing is very adjustable as far as width so just about any 26"-700c bike should fit with no issue. The resistance settings work great as long as you adjust all the slack out of the cable before hand.There are a few downsides: even for me it was a little confusing to put together and I had to take some back off to get it together right. It is a little bit loud, but that is to be expected with a trainer.Overall, for ~$60 I'm very happy with this product.One last note, the smoother the rear tire, the quieter it will be.

The entire reason I chose this model was for the shifter and unfortunately after I had put it all together I found out that in no way does it work. The magnetic resistance component, that you have to attach yourself with jankity tools, has several rattling loose parts. Based on the box being held together with a ton of clear packaging tape, it appears that they just sent it back out to me after someone else returned it - probably due to it being broken.It came with no assembly instructions nor is there a manual anywhere online, including RAD's own website.I never write reviews but this has been such a frustrating experience I was compelled to prevent other people from wasting their time and money.

I love it I use it 4 times a week. I have it outside so the noise is minimal. Only bad part was that the shifter thing was broken upon arrival. I didn't mind so I kept it..

it wasn't delivered as described in the installation manual and the manufacturer's HELP team were NO help at all. I finally figured it out and put it together after several attempts, got on and rode it but the 7 levels of difficulty do nothing to change the ride, I am quite dissatisfied and have only ridden it twice because it doesn't do what it is supposed to do but I haven't had the time and energy to go thru' the complicated and frustrating process of shipping it back and getting a refund

The unit had a broken cable adjuster out of the box. RAD is good about replacement, but replacement is all or nothing...seems like a waste, but no way to change out just the cable or lever. Assembly instructions were very poor, practically useless. Unit works well and easy to put on and take off bike.

Easy to assemble and also very easy to fit the bike On the Trainer.The Quick release for the magnetic wheel is working good, no more pressure on the rear tire when weare not using it, that way there is no flat spot or excess preasure.I recommend it!!!

I like the flywheel concept. Quieter than a fan. Assembly is not clear and the instructions need to be improved. Handlebar tension adjuster broke because the plastic is too hard. I just set it at 4 or so and change gears for light to heavy workout. Discounted price was good value regardless of the 2 complaints noted.

The trainer is a good product. I enjoy it and it does everything that is is supposed to do. I gave it a 4 out of 5 stars because:1) Noware in the online information is there a word about the trainer requiring a quick release rear wheel!2) To get the piece to convert the trainer so a bike with a conventional rear wheel would be $40.00 with shipping.I modified the required piece and it works fine.
