Light but sturdy - Perfect for travel
I love the way this tripod folds up into a very short and light package. It is fast and easy to set up and take down and quickly fits into the bag. It is also amazingly sturdy, holding my Canon 80D with Canon 70-200L f4.0 lens with ease. The ball head also works great with many adjustment options. The plate seems small, but screws onto my camera for a secure fit. It feels like featherweight when I carry it over my shoulder. I could hike for hours carrying it. I love it!!!

Sweet setup, sturdy and light - for a PLEIN AIR PAINTER
Out of the box impressions: DISCLAIMER: I'm using this tripod for plein air painting - or will, if it stops raining. You might think that's a less persnickety usage than photography, but I beg to differ. Nothing is more annoying than the jiggle-jiggle-jiggle of a cheap tripod when you're trying to paint, or legs that fall off (thanks, Sirui, you get the prize for WORST customer service EVERRRR), or lack of angle adjustments on irregular terrain. Because I use a Daytripper pochade (by Prolific Painter) I need the legs to have a high enough terminus so that the box hangs from the legs high enough so the mixing area isn't too far from the panel. The leg spread is generous enough that this works beautifully for that. On a more generic note: The swing-up centerpost makes setup SO fast. Legs feel solid and open and shut with a 1/4 turn. Collapsing and extending is fast and smooth. The mounting plate is easy to attach and smooth to operate. The whole thing has a solid, no-nonsense feel about it, and it's good looking to boot. I have been searching for a reasonably priced tripod with a reasonable height (I'm 5'3", so you wouldn't think that would be such a challenge) AND WEIGHT since before Christmas. I ordered in an OBO but the box hung about 2' off the ground. Unless I wanted to sit all the time that's ...a little low for painting! Overall great out of the box, I am very impressed with ease of setup, functionality and overall solid feel - this thing has a build to it that seems like it will last. Let me take it out a few times and I'll share some photos and let you know how it performs in the field.

NOPE.
A similar weight and size as my previous Rangers tripod, it, admittedly, doesn't feel quite as stable as the other for much more money. As far as quality goes, however, it is leaps and bounds better. Extremely happy with this one for my mirrorless X-T2 system (with the heavier XF 16-55mm, mind you) and it's now my go to tripod for travel and portability.UPDATE 2: I am now going on 5 business days without a response to my warranty claim. I would recommend going elsewhere if the customer support is so poor.UPDATE: one of the twist locks broke and no longer tightens the lock for its leg section. I attempted filing a warranty, as this was absolutely not due to user error - the thing has been barely used. It's been several days now with no response. I'd recommend steering clear from these twist locks, as I've seen various reports of similar issues.

Light weight!!! But is that good?
Vanguard VEO 2 235CB Carbon Fiber Travel Tripod can be a great tripod if you wisely choose the correct application you want it for (which probably I did not). It's very well made and extremely light weight, but the price for such advantage is high if you have any setup larger than a mirror-less with a 24-70 or so zoom. I have a Canon 6D and the pressure on the shutter was enough visibly move the camera and ruin the shot. And if you have the strap all the time (like me), a bit of wind will move the whole thing. My humble belief is that everything comes down to this tripod being made out of five sections, since the last section is about half inch or less and has ample play when extender. Clearly, you are not paying for a $1000 Gitzo, but Vanguard should not include in their description that this thing handles DSLRs, because although the head may support then, the truth is that when fully extended, this tripod becomes extremely flemsy. Sadly, I'm returning it and will try something else that is made out of only 4 sections. I have no doubt this this is great with a mirror-less or a small action cam.

Spend the extra $$ to get this durable and quality-built little thing
I have a Sony A6300 and am not a professional. As an amateur photographer (or enthusiast) I was very reluctant to spend this much money on a tripod. However, I have purchased some cheaper tripods in the past (including the Amazon Basics tripod) and they fell apart. I mean, literally pieces would fall off after 1-2 times of use and they were very low quality. I bought this one it arrived in a nice box and with very few plastic packaging bags, indicating immediately to me that this was ready to pull out and use. I was right! Very few pieces and easy to use, which was a plus for me. The legs, the rubber grips, the knobs, the rotators, all of them feel high quality and well put-together. It just feels durable. The legs slide easily and you can tell it can hold a decent amount of weight (which I probably won't need). It is READY TO USE right out of the box - I have been very confused about whether I needed to buy an easy snap-off plate, but I didn't. It also folds really tightly and securely. I plan to use this for international trips and hiking adventures. If you want quality, spend the extra $$ and get this tripod. I'm seriously impressed.

Great bargain for a carbon travel tripod
Great deal on a nice tripod. It's compact and lightweight. The head is pretty smooth, I really like the tear drop shaped knobs. It holds my 80d and Sigma 150-600mm lens just fine, as well as any smaller lenses.
