I have a 10-month-old Shiba Inu. And this is her first season to blow her undercoat. Shiba Inus are very clean dogs and never have a foul odor, but they do shed lightly through most of the year and blow their coats twice yearly. Well, I thought I could handle it with daily brushing and vacuuming. Forget about it! I know Furminator is a trusted product for many groomers. So I decided to try it at home. The bottles arrived well sealed with no leakage. The shampoo lathers nicely (not too much). Both the shampoo and conditioner have a pleasant light clean scent and rinse out easily. They work perfectly together. Be prepared for clumps of fur to rinse off around and into your drain. When blow-drying, the fur clumps will fly! If you have the brush that suctions the fur, that canister is going to have enough fur to make another pet. And the result will be astonishing. My puppy's fur was so clean, light, and soft. The undercoat was almost totally gone in just one wash. I'll probably take her to the groomer next time because the cleanup after the bath was major! But if you have the patience and want to do this at home, it works. One week later, and she still smells fresh and only sheds a tiny bit, which is expected for her breed, but nothing like the tufts that would just pop off anytime and all the time before the Furminator treatment. The products will last a long time because of how effective they are. A little bit goes a long way! Fantastic products that do what they claim and better!

Great product works

I am a dog groomer and have tried so many deshedding shampoos I can't count. I always come back to this one! It smells great and does the best job loosening up the hair so I get all of it off while leaving them soft and conditioned.

I have a corgi that leaves corgi glitter EVERYWHERE! This product has reduced her shedding tremendously!!! Her fur is so soft! And lasts about a week! Will buy again!

So the product does what it says it will, we gave our dog a bath and by the next day he was shedding like crazy. The problem that came with that shedding was the shampoo dried out his skin so badly that he was itching and scratching his skin relentlessly. He also was biting his fur to relieve the itch. This lasted 2 weeks before we decided to take him to the vet. If you see any side effects like excessive itching, WASH YOUR DOG IMMEDIATELY WITH DAWN DISH SOAP. Our vet said there’s an active ingredient in the shampoo and conditioner that embeds under a layer of skin which is why our pooch was so itchy and it was not getting better. He got prescribed some medicine for the next 2 weeks and hopefully it is better soon. I will say that the product works as described and his fur is super soft and he’s lost his top coat that has been shed off, but you just need to know the potential for side effects. Thanks!
