KNACRO TPA3116 2.0 Dual Channel Stereo HiFi High Power Digital Amplifier Board

This is a great one amp solution to may of my homemade boombox creations! Most of the amps out there do not offer bass & treble controls, in order for me to get really good bass I had to purchase another board and don't get me wrong, the quality of sound was/is great. Now, with this amp, the bass & treble controls are included on one board, which, reduces cost and additional boards to wire up so construction has been simplified.This board use a Texas Instruments TPA3116 chip rated at: 2 × 50 W Into a 4-Ω BTL Load at 21 V (TPA3116D2). Please consult the Texas Instruments data sheet. I've used several amp boards with the TI TPA3116 and I haven't needed to use more than 12VDC for more than adequate volume levels.I am pleased to find this TPA3116 amplifier board with bass and treble controls and will be using more in the near future. This board has simplified my construction of my homemade boomboxes.I am going to make an audio system for one of my computers, that, has none at present. I gave this board a quick test with a 12v SLA battery and connected the output to two (2) Micca COVO-S Compact 2-Way Bookshelf Speakers (also available from Amazon, ASIN: B00N8265I8), connected an MP3 player to it's input jack (3.5mm) and was blown away by the quality of the sound. Great bass and treble! If you need an amplifier for a project, give this a try, it has plenty of power and because it comes with bass and treble controls you can't go wrong, plus it's very easy wiring!

This amp worked surprisingly well for my boombox project. I am powerering this with three 18650 lithium batteries that only provide 12 volts when they are fully charged and drop below 11 volts before the protection circuit shuts them down after having played longer than 10 hours at above average listening volume. Despite the low voltage this amp keeps pounding out clean sound the whole time. I am driving two "Overnight Sensations" kit speakers that aren't overly sensitive, 87db and 4ohms, and at only 12 volts (15 watts/channel if the specs are right) they play to ear crunching levels indoors which is all I was hoping for. 12 volts may not be enough for some situations but 19 volts from a laptop power supply will drive them cleanly louder than I would want to listen to them. I connected a bluetooth/FM/usb media player module from Parts Express to the Vout terminals on this board and it turns on and off with the board, very convenient and makes a complete sound system. This amp and my speakers play very flat so I haven't had to use the tone controls but did notice that if they are all cranked up some distortion starts creeping in. Leave them on the middle detent and volume can be turned all the way up without clipping.

Really happy with this amp in my weatherproof box build. The potentiometers are gritty though. So you get a little scratchy sound when turning. Other than that great amp.

Great sound , no speaker pop on power disconnect solid build.. just needs to be pair with a good bluetooth board
