Sauder Shoal Creek Organizer Hutch, Diamond Ash finish

FIRST OFF, READ THE ITEM BEFORE PURCHASING!!! THIS IS JUST THE HUTCH, I CANNOT UNDERSTAND PEOPLE LEAVING BAD REVIEWS BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T READ CORRECTLY. DO THESE PEOPLE NOT LOOK FOR THIS SAME DESK ON OTHER SITES TO CHECK PRICES? DON'T DO A BAD REVIEW IF YOU ARE AT FAULT, THE DESK IS ANOTHER PURCHASE.I was actually terrified reading the reviews...but I didn't want to spend a fortune on a desk, especially since I have a 5 & 6 yr old. I loved the look of this, knew it would fit my needs, so I took a chance. I am really glad I did. My box did not come damaged, and honestly, the only piece that had any scratches on it was an interior wall of the right drawers, so it did not matter. I set out all the screws/parts before we started, and honestly, that saved us a TON of time. I helped my husband put it together (both the hutch and the desk!!) It took an evening, about 3-4 hours. Everything lined up nicely. I am wondering about the people who said it fell apart easily, or it didn't line up. If you have done any of these types of furniture/shelving before, most of the initial pieces lock together, and when screwed in correctly, even on particle board, it should hold & ours did. It looks great in the room, & we have no issues. I really love it. Even though I measured it several times, it still came out bigger than I had pictured, which I actually love. It looks nice, is quite sturdy (I did stand on it to hang a few pictures) and I am very happy. I ended up ordering 4 pieces all together, the desk, hutch, lateral file & the storage chest. Happy with all of them, only the lateral file needs a cover replacement for being scratched upon delivery. Hey, for a $500+ desk, I am A-OK! Haven't had long enough to determine if the finish will hold up, but keep in mind the price.

I like the hutch and the quality seems good, the only thing is the picture and description can be a little misunderstood. Te picture shows a desk and hutch and says organizer,upon receiving the hut h I waited for the desk...did not realize it was just a hutch so I now am stuck with having to purchase the desk for $400 to match and to fit the hutch. I was not planning on spending that much on a desk is the reason I chose this item but now have no choice because I can not package and send the hutch back, very upset with the advertisement and customer service but good quality hutch.

I ordered this "Organizer" in March of 2017. I never got the chance to put this product together because I was doing over my house. I recently opened this item up hoping for an entire desk, and I was misled by the picture to thinking that this was an entire desk. I should have read the reviews, but honestly I wanted a reasonable priced desk that will do the job, so when I saw the price and the picture, I just purchased the product. No wonder the price was so reasonable. I am extremely upset and I hope there is still someway to return this item.

Well I'm rating this prematurely since I don't have it put together yet. Even though it is an assemble and go product, it looks very nice if you take your time and don't lose your cool.... IT TAKES a long time to put together.. I bought the desk and hutch and believe me I have been doing it in spare time and so far I've not even finished step 5 which is actually just starting to put the drawers together. :O

I bought this hutch to sit on top of an existing desk. I gave this a four for two reasons. First the hutch has no bottom - it sits on the desk. It is screwed onto the desk it matches. Its not really made to sit on anything but the matching desk but I made it work. Second, the middle removal self is about 1/4 too long. I had to hammer it in place. Third the back is nice and solid but the back does not align with the hutch so it is short on one side and too long on the other. Its in the back so it does not show but … Make sure the drawer rails are on correctly. The instructions are good and they have on line videos if you really get lost but it is not hard at all to put together. Took me about 30 minutes total.

It's a hutch, goes well with the desk. Also, I disagree with the posters above. The description clearly says it is a hutch/organizer. As for the picture, how can they accurately show what the hutch will look like without the desk? If you scroll down to product details it clearly states that it is a hutch FOR desk number...whatever.Bought it to go with the desk, I like both just fine.

Low quality. Many parts warped and hard to assemble. Don't see this lasting very long.

It was the perfect height and matched the desk exactly.
