I goud give 4 stars, but see why I gave 5.
I love innovative technologies and after a long research I found this VTech set with Doorbell included. In fact it has such amount of features that sometimes make me confused, but I know it's a question of time to be more familiar with all the resources. Why 5 stars?I should give 4 stars because of the bad quality of the doorbell camera, it's really terrible and you can only see a "ghost" with this ridiculous IR illuminator, but.. I solved it by using a dry contact available to light up the main door light.I leave on a house made entirely by concrete and bricks, with generally cut any weak signal. That's why I gave 5 stars, for my surprise, I can have my remote station on the second floor with several barriers between the doorbell and the remote and keep receiving a perfect signal including the video.Pros.- Super strong signal, can pass through brick walls, concrete floors, etc.- A huge amount of cool features (Pager, Internal Phone, Locate-me, Speak who is calling, Live view of front door, etc)- Really beautiful design- Can be found at complete darkness place due a feature to leave the main screen on with low light- Battery works up to 4 days with no use- Store a picture for ALL usage of Doorbell- Can have two doorbells- Speaker is loud enough to a meeting with many people in a round tableCons.- Only this freak camera with about 240x120 resolution could be better, also the image is compressed to get worst

This doorbell/phone is Great!
If you need a phone, this one is great quality, easy to set up, works perfect AND IT HAS A VIDEO/AUDIO DOORBELL! I haven't found another product with the features of this one. This phone will announce who is calling so you don't have to be looking at the phone. If you just want a doorbell that the visitor can press and talk to you without you going to the door, this is perfect. The door chimes on all phones and you can choose to talk or not. I noticed 12 of the 23 reviews got it for free and still complained??? Concerning various negative reviews...The phone is very well made. The phone does not fall over. The door chime selection is more than adequate. The pictures on the phone are in color, just pale. The person is easily recognizable. You have to try the doorbell camera in various places in order to find the best image. Picture quality? Really? Are you printing them out? This is a great phone, intercom, doorbell, and video door speaker. Cheap price for a bonus security feature.

We've used the phone & used as a CB. Camera is kind of cool. Being able to hear doorbell upstairs is great.
People tend duck of the way to avoid the camera, but the camera does work. The phone works fine as well - decent quality sound. We used the phone kind of like CBs at one time too - Husband on the roof adjusting an antennae while I was in the house letting him know if it was helping the TV or not - very handy. And yes, I'm aware antennaes are considered outdated & we use Netflix most of the time, but we just can't see footing the bill for cable just to watch the regular channels that are supposed to be free on the few occasions that we choose to do so :-) Anyways, we've found this phone to be useful & it allows us to hear the doorbell upstairs (where we keep the 2nd part of the unit. Good purchase. No regrets.

SHAME ON VTECH!!
SHAME ON VTECH!!VTECH came up with an excellent idea and (a not so good solution) to communicating with visitors at your front door. Not only can you talk to the person at the front door via the phone but you can see a photo and even a video of the person who comes calling. Here is the problem:As many other reviewers have mentioned, the video is very poor quality, Yes, you will be able to recognize someone you are familiar with, but that is about all. VTECH should be ashamed of themselves for manufacturing a system with such a low quality camera. The phone portion of the system is probably fine; it’s the video that needs to be overhauled. VTECH Please go back to the drawing board and redesign this video doorbell with a camera that is capable of capturing images that are of a quality people are used to seeing in the twenty first century. What you need to know:When I ordered this system I was WRONGLY under the impression the camera portion of the system could be powered exclusively using the wires from my existing doorbell. That is not the case. You do have the option of powering the camera with two AA batteries, but for best results it should be hard wired into an electrical outlet. If you connect your existing door bell wires to the camera, the camera then becomes connected to your existing doorbell to allow the existing doorbell to chime along with the VTECH phone when someone pushes the doorbell button on the outside VTECH camera housing.Bottom Line: IT IS REALLY SO SIMPLE, BUT VTECH GOT IT WRONG WITH THAT LOUSY CAMERA!!
