OtterBoxDEFENDER SERIES Case for HTC Windows Phone 8X - Retail Packaging - Glacier

I was so excited to get a BLUE Windows 8 phone....which I absolutely love. There aren't a lot of options out there for protective cases so I had to chose between Black and Glacier. WELL...in the pic the glacier one looks white (think snow) and gray, but it is actually a dingy tan and khaki gray color. Remember the mid-80's IBM computer colors??? Well, that's what this is. So, I hate the look of my phone now. Ladies, WHY won't they offer us a prettier cover?!?OK, that being said...I do think this case will protect my pretty blue phone very well. I read a couple other comments about not liking the screen protector but I honestly don't know what they were talking about. It's just a clear plastic piece that snaps to the back of the inner case. There's nothing here to apply, so I'm wondering if that post was for a different product.I also think this case makes it easier to press the power button, and it makes it a little harder to accidentally press the volume control (which I did often just picking up my phone). It is bulkier, but I thought it was a little too thin without a case so I can live with that.But I can assure you...if ever a decent colored protective case hits the market, this one goes to Goodwill.

Received the case and I am happy with it. I am not having any of the trouble with the buttons needing too much force like the previous reviews. I always had to get my finger 'just right' on the power button before the case. Now that is not a probelm. Matter of fact, I feel it takes less force. Of cource, I had a teenager install my phone into the case, so I am sure that helped :-)As for the case being grey; true, another color would be nice. I'm ok with grey only becasue the interior of most purses are black and there by rendering a black phone invisible.I'd also like to mention that if you haven't bought a case - put your phone back in the box till you do. I had mine less that a week before I dropped it on a flat floor and broke the glass. Newer phones can't withstand any bumps. I have encased a broken phone to prevent further damage.

I drop my phone at least five times a day. This case makes me not worry about that and that's all I need. I don't mind the bulk, since I'm addicted to my phone and it's in my hand or on my desk all the time anyway.The only thing I don't like about it is that dust and what have you gets under the screen eventually and when I took the case off the inside of the case was filthy. So maybe take it off and wipe it down sometimes if that bothers you.It also might be note worthy that I did accidentally tint the case pink somehow after I had dyed my hair pink. But... That's not a problem for most people.

To start, my son has broken pretty much every phone he has ever owned. I decided to go with an Otterbox to try and save this one. We are on over 2 months with this case and not a scratch on it. Very rugged considering I have seen him drop it at least a few times.His only complaint is the rubberized covers for the headphone jack and charging port are a real pain when connecting anything. I let him cut them off because I didn't get it to be water proof, just drop resistant. It's not rated for water resistance anyway, and the description even on the Ottebox website just say the covers are to keep out dust and debris.I bought it to protect the phone, and so far so good. Over 2 months and not a scratch with a teenage boy who has broken many phones before getting this one.

the color wasn't the same as the pictures. i read another review that said the white was more tan and ugly, so i got the black one. the black one looks exactly like the white picture. grey rubber backing and white face plate. its not too pretty of course, but super effective when you have little ones. my 4 year old threw as hard as he could on the cement and not a scratch. so, since it saved my phone, i'm happy.

It's hard to find phone cases for this HTC 8X phone. This one fit perfectly, and is very sturdy. It's like a double breasted suit of armor for my phone. It is stylish looking but not 'cute'. And the case makes the phone too big for my back pocket. It came with a belt holster, which I put inside my purse to make it easy to find, and it's working very well. For a man I can see where the holster would be necessary because of the size once the case is on the phone. Overall I like this case. It is functional, good looking and lightweight.

I had one for my iPhone and loved it, despite how bulky it made my 4S. I was reluctant to get one for my HTC Windows Phone 8X because it is such a slim and lightweight phone... however I am glad that I did. While it does add some bulk and takes away from the sleekness, it isn't as bad as the iPhone 4S version. And I like being able to let my kids play with the phone without having to be worried that they will break it. I've dropped my phone on concrete a few times since adding the OtterBox, and you would never know that it happened.

I had an OtterBox for my past phone and it really protected it through numerous falls, my toddler son throwing it, and who knows what else. The one for my new phone seems to be just as good. OtterBox is a great product for protecting your phone.
