Works like a charm
My Kreepy Krauly was constantly getting stuck at one particular part of my pool, where the curved step met the wall of the built-in spa. Since I am at work during the week, I am usually not around to noticed it & correct it, so the pool quite often wasn't being cleaned properly. Every evening I had to go out & check if it had stuck that day -- and frequently it had. I ended up removing a few of the hose connector tubes, shortening the reach & preventing the cleaner from reaching (or getting stuck at) that location. But of course now a fairly large area of the pool wasn't being cleaned at all. So I bought this twister. Doesn't look like much, and you can't easily SEE it twisting the hose because it does it slowly (3 times per hour) -- but it certainly does it! I restored the connectors that I'd removed, making the hose full-length, and now the cleaner reaches the entire pool - and it has not stuck once in the past 3 weeks. Happy camper. EDIT January 2013. I have owned this for about 3 months. On Saturday morning, I noticed that the cleaner had got stuck in the usual place (see above). But I decided to leave it and, after about an hour, it freed itself and started cleaning the rest of the pool. That NEVER happened before I installed the twister. Bottom line - well worth the $$

Great idea, breaks in a heartbeat.
Great idea, apparently cheaply made. Day 1, worked like a champ. Day 2 worked. Day 3.... not so much. Not only am I returning the product, but since you are required to slice up one of your hoses to install this, I am now short a hose. Going to be asking them to pay for a replacement hose section as well.I really wanted this to work. I have one corner that is like a magnet to the cleaner and I really needed this solution. On the first day, as soon as I installed this, the cleaner made a beeline for its favorite corner and immediately got stuck. However, 5 minutes later, as the hose did its twisting magic, it climbed free and roamed the pool like it should. I was overjoyed. On day 2 I noticed that it seemed to take longer to free up once it got stuck. Instead of 5 minutes it now took 10-15 minutes to free up, but it still worked. Ok, I could live with that. However today when it had been stuck for over 30 minutes I went to inspect and noticed that the wheels inside were no longer turning. Examining the unit, it's hard for me to tell what's wrong. Nothing visible broken, but if I spin the wheel with my finger, the front plate does not turn at all. The little yellow drive gear appears stuck at the very end of its run where it is supposed to go around the end of the teeth and start back the other direction.Note that I cleaned all the pool skimmers so everything is clean and water flow is great. The hose has a nice vibration, indicating plenty of suction. But this thing is DOA. So... love the idea, but don't buy this one. It won't last.

The first cleaner we bought wasn't a great model and it's rubber skirt had deteriorated
A little pricey, but worth it. My pool cleaner was consistently getting stuck at a particular point at the bottom corner of the stairs. The first cleaner we bought wasn't a great model and it's rubber skirt had deteriorated, so we bought a new one, but it still got stuck in the same spot. Also, due I think to the somewhat odd shape of the pool and the way the hose would run up against the wall of the spa, there were a couple of spots where the cleaner just never went. I tried changing the hose length and even tried some hose weights in different positions, but nothing seemed to work. So I shelled out for this item and it totally fixed the problem! The cleaner does still get stuck by the stairs, but never for very long, as the hose rotation works it free again. And we're getting complete coverage of the whole pool now.Installation was very easy too. Just cut one length of hose, attach the supplied caps to the cut sections, and stick the device in between. The only trick is to be sure you have it oriented correctly. The water has to flow the proper direction and there is a distinct top and bottom, but both orientations are reasonably well-labeled on the device.

It works, but not durable
This is probably my third (or maybe 4th) unit.It does the job. It gets the vacuum out of the corners and gives it a more randomized path through the pool. So it works as advertised. The problem is that it just flat out breaks after several months. I'm guessing the chlorine just eats through some of the parts (or the water rusts it). This time I'll make sure I take it out rather than keeping it in the pool.I wouldn't mind if it was cheaper and had to keep buying it, but come-on...make this thing actually last.I'm only buying it again because my pool has a couple of corners where my vacuum gets stuck, and this thing helps.

Kreepy Krauly
We have a Kreepy Krauly. It was always getting stuck on the rounded stairs and would just stay there for hours until it was moved. We read the reviews and had mixed feelings about the purchase. My husband installed it in just a few minutes (ours did not need the bent part they sent) at 1st it seemed it would not work correctly, but we put another(2 total) weight on the front hose which submerged the Twister completely. It's been 3 days and the longest it has been stuck on the steps is about 15-20 minutes, then it releases and moves on. I hope the plastic teeth in the gears hold up because our vacuum runs all day everyday. I gave it only 4 stars because I think they should include at least 1 hose weight or even stress the fact that it will need add'l. weights to work properly.

Poor quality, designed to fail
Worked well for about 6 months then started coming apart where the outer casing comes together. Finally after about 11 months the case has enough play that the vac does not get enough suction. Too bad it is made so cheaply would be a great product if it wasn't made to fail so you will have to purchase another. I will go move the vac myself rather than throw money away on this.
