Solid value for the price.
Solid value for the price.I use these to monitor temps inside my entertainment center. With a home theater setup that puts out a good amount of heat, I wanted something simple to help me keep an eye on airflow and hotspots. These thermometers do exactly what I need them to.They’re accurate enough for this kind of use. I compared all five and the readings were close—within a degree or so. The probes are small and easy to tuck behind gear or route through vents. The displays are clear and easy to read at a glance.Only downside is battery life—one unit came with a weak battery, but replacements are cheap and easy to install.Bottom line: if you’re looking for basic, reliable temp monitoring without spending a lot, this is a solid pick. I’d buy them again.

Amazing deal
I am using it as a pool thermometer. I plan on waterproofing the display, but for now I just have it wrapped in a Ziploc. The probe has been in the pool all week and has had no issues. Temp is accurate. Awesome deal. Might buy more just to tinker

Reasonable accuracy and exceptional value
These digital thermometers provide excellent 5-star value for the money. However, I deducted one star because the Amazon listing OVERSTATED their accuracy by a FACTOR of 20!!Performance is misrepresented in the “Product Description” by stating an accuracy of “+-0.1”, whereas the box (first photo) clearly states a more reasonable +-2 F accuracy, which the units do indeed achieve. If you bought these believing the “Product Description”, you would be sorely disappointed. (Temperature resolution is also misstated. The box correctly lists the resolution as 0.2F, whereas the “Product Description says “0.1”)I bought two lots (10 thermometers) for household A/C and temperature monitoring. A quick initial test showed that all did indeed display degrees Fahrenheit, all LED display segments appeared to work, and all displays looked crisp with high contrast in normal room light. The displays are not back-lit, so won’t be visible in the dark without some illumination. For quick initial accuracy testing, I strapped groups of 5 sensors together, and blew a boxer fan at them (second photo), allowing time for them to settle. My reference temperature was provided by a 100-ohm platinum RTD, whose accuracy has been previously verified. (It’s inside the small copper tube in the photo.) The RTD temperature was read using a four-wire hookup to a precision meter (photo 3).Results? All units were within +-0.9 F – well within the accuracy stated on the box. One was right on, five read low, and four read high. If time permits, I’ll provide a more comprehensive evaluation.Bottom line: at two bucks apiece, these digital thermometers provide exceptional value.

Worked ok but...
Easier to read than old-school liquid thermometers and more precise than dial thermometers but because there is no pull strip, batteries may not have full life left and the lack of any kind of seal means there are susceptible to condensation and corrosion in cold locations like a fridge (but at $2/EA they are cheap to replace!)

4 out of 5 ain't bad
I needed a thermometer like this to calibrate a pool heater; finding 5 for $10 was a deal I couldn't resist. They take 2X LR44 batteries each. There is no off switch, and they come already activated so no telling how long the original batteries will last, but they are available for as little as 15 cents in quantity elsewhere on Amazon, so I'm not worried.I checked them for consistency by immersing the probes in water at various temperatures. 4 of the 5 were within one degree at all times, one was a dud that varied by 2-4 degrees. I switched the dud's batteries but it remained dancing to its own tune so I discarded that one and I'll carry on with the other 4.They respond to temperature changes within a few seconds, and are easy to read in any light from dim to bright sunlight. Good enough for most projects around the home.

Within range
I let them all adjust themselves and they were all within 0.8 deg. They seem to be very sensitive to my hand being within a few inches and would start to increase the reading. I don’t need a super accurate thermometer and these all seem to work satisfactorily especially at only $2 apiece.

Worth it
Very accurate!! Extremely affordable, more responsive & consistent than units way more expensive

Farenheit reading and accurate!
Very accurate - all 5 within a degree or so. Just a super value. Wish there was an on/off button. The battery access is quite easy so the button batteries are removed until needed. I believe the thermometers can work with only one battery.
