Works just fine in my AM4 socket AMD proc - don't let name or price fool you. I have another variation of this brand in my other PC that's been going for over 6 years now, 24/7 - they're good.

Affordable and makes stock coolers look pathetic
*** UPDATE ***The aftermarket CPU cooler is still going strong. Idle temps are between 35 - 40 C. Load temps are 50 - 60 C. This is without cleaning the heatsink, fan or reapplying new thermal paste. Temps have only went up 3 -5 C on idle and load temps in the last 15 months. If I did proper cleaning, I can guarantee it would drop those temps 3 - 5 C.I'm looking at building a new PC soon, I may buy the same exact model and snap it on the Ryzen 7 2600 CPU.My PC I built is 9 years old. I have the first gen i7 Intel Processor (920) on a AsRock X58 Deluxe motherboard. Yeah, it's old and ran good until recently. It was shutting down because the CPU temps were exceeding over 100 C during 100% load. I did a complete overhaul on cleaning and maintenance. I even applied new Arctic Silver 5 thermal paste to the CPU. My CPU temps went at 60 C idle to about 50 C. However 100% load was between 70-80 C. It's an improvement BUT it's far to hot. I know thermal paste needs about 48 hours of CPU usage to work properly. 45 C or higher on idle isn't acceptable in my book. I ordered this bad boy and slapped it on. It's such a big difference compared to Intel's piece of junk stock coolers. My idle temps are hanging around 35-40 C and during 100% load it reaches 50-55 C currently. It's dropped my CPU temps instantly. I should see even cooler temps once the Arctic Silver 5 is done doing it's magic (Bring CPU temps down a further 5-8 C). Whether you have a new or old processor, I highly recommend spending the money (which is not a lot at all) to keep your CPU nice and cooled!P.S: Motherboards are well designed in today's market but my AsRock X58 Deluxe is 9 years old. Installing the last clasp was TERRIBLE. I thought I was going to break the heatsink/fan or bend the motherboard capacitors sitting below. I evenly held a lot of pressure down on the heatsink/fan while getting the last clasp on to snap it in properly. Just make you line everything up properly before applying a lot of pressure. If you slip, you may damage your motherboard.

It didn't fit on my amd board
It's supposed to be compatible with all and boards but it didn't fit on mine

Xeon X3-1240v3
Used for a Xeon X3-1240V3 which is a quad core 8 thread cpu. System used for a streaming\media\VM host\file server and is under heavy usage at times. This keeps under 60C when streaming or encoding videos. Really easy install and not a bad looking fan either for the cost. I would recommend for the casual to mid usage user.

Its Meh
I was using this for an AMD A-10 CPU and it did not sufficiently cool the processor. I got repeated messages about temperatures exceeding the limits and how it would lessen the life span of the CPU. I've switched to a liquid cooling system. The main reason I went with this is because of its size. I'm using a microITX tower. Do yourself a favor and spend a bit more on something with a larger fan that can push more air.

Good budget cooler
I have used this in two builds. This is a good cooler for the price. I was building a rackmount server and the standard coolers are about 1/2" too tall. This cooler is slightly shorter and fit in the case. The mounting hardware is cheap plastic, but if you place it carefully and don't force it, it works fine. There is no backmount to install, the cooler is held to the motherboard by the rivets.

Easy to install, very quiet, and extremely effective
Easy to install, very quiet, and extremely effectiveSurprised that my CPU wasn't failing with the heat. The stock Intel heatsink was letting it get up to 80c. This new heatsink has it down in the mid 20c. Thank you 👍
