Only charging device available for small iPad
Have Apple Gen 8 iPad, but it had the 3 magnetic points. Charging port needed replacement, but, once screen is detached it’s susceptible to moisture. Order this item and iPad charges perfectly.

It works as it should
It is slow at charging but it does the job. Unfortunately, the Ipad I need it is an older generation. Before buying make sure you have the correct table with the 3 dots on a side.

Slow, but works! Continously charges ipad with bad charging port!
This may not be a fast charger, but any charge is better than none, which is what this does. I'm convinced that Apple purposely makes their charging ports fail after a few years so that we'll have to get a new one. Every ipad I've owned has had the same problem where it starts charging but then stops with the slightest movement. I got this to save my sanity from listening to the charging ding non-stop while using it. The moment I popped the ipad on the, the magnets grabbed it and secured it to the holder and it started charging. It's been on the charger for about 1.5 hours and it's fine from completely dead battery 0% to 17%. That may sound bad, but if you're ipad isn't charging at all, seeing 17% from 0% is a huge deal. This is the only smart connect charger option for older ipads that I know of, and unfortunately logistics has stopped producing them, so if you get a chance to buy this, you should do it... or buy another ipad

Updated: Do Not Buy
Update: Do Not Buy. Unit stopped charging the iPad after only a month and barely ever removing it from the stand. I removed it yesterday, and it will not charge with the stand now.Original Review: I held off 6 years and finally bought one, but it's not engineered quite as nice as I had hoped for. Documentation was only an image on the underside of the lid and regulatory info, nothing more. Item was sealed in plastic inside, but there was no protective wax paper over the sticky pad on the bottom unlike shown in some review videos, so the sticky pad surface was slicked from contact with the plastic while sitting in a warehouse. I suspect this might have been refurbished given that shipping protection over the sticky pad was missing. The sticky pad bottom does not stick well to a clean surface, and despite the advertisements, it really does need two hands for removal and placement. The Smart Connector often makes poor contact, resulting in constant chimes for charging, and a need to quickly reposition the iPad. When positioned correctly, it does charge, though quite slowly. I bought this thinking it would be a nicer way to use this old iPad in the kitchen as a TV, and it does the job, though I'm thinking the angle was better with the Smart Keyboard cover. The plastic edge that contacts the back of the iPad when in use is indeed somewhat sharp; not sure what Logitech was thinking there.

Saved me from buying a new iPad
The charging port on my iPad was only working part of the time. It either got dirty or a component broke. Apple told me they could not replace it because there are no individual components. Anyway, my choices were to live with a really bad charging port and try to fiddle with it, or buy a new iPad. Then I realized I could use a charging stand for my iPad PRO. It works great and better to spend $100 for this than $1000 or more for a new iPad. The only possible down side is that you have to be somewhat precise setting the iPad into the charger. It has to be centered and it kind of "clicks in". it is all magnetic, but things have to line up correctly. I highly recommend this product.

Good idea, bad execution
I wanted to like this stand. The idea of a minimalist stand that uses the Smart Connector on the iPad Pro seemed a win win situation. The only trouble is that charging through the Smart Connector is slow or non existent. My main purpose for buying the stand was to have a stable base that kept the iPad at a good angle for viewing streaming video. Starting with a full charge, charging cable connected to the port at the back of the stand and the charging indicator showing a connected power source the iPad was 70% discharged in about 90 minutes of viewing. Turned the iPad off and completely powered it down over night while still connected to the Smart Connector (roughly 8 hours) and battery level was still only 50% when turned back on. I repeated the same sequence of actions with the exact same charger/cable combination, only this time connected the cable directly to the lightning connector on the iPad itself and close to 3 hours of streaming resulted in only 10% battery loss. Recharging from a 50% battery state took about an hour with the unit powered down. I'm not sure if the problem is the stand or the Smart Connector technology, but whichever it is it's a problem. The jury is still out if I'll keep the stand or not. It's a lot of $$ to spend for a charging stand that doesn't charge effectively.

Works for 9th gen charging
Best kept secret that this will actually charge your iPad slowly but changes it will. It’s tough and hold the iPad well.
