Great Game That Can Bring Back The Feels
Full disclaimer: I haven't owned a Rockband set since the original one came out for the Xbox 360. When I received this game, I was pleasantly surprised how different the quality is/was compared to my old Rockband set. I was also excited to learn that both the drums and the guitar were fully wireless. Microphone is still corded, but I think that adds to the effect of realism. I was also excited to see that most, if not all, the songs I purchased on the original version still ported into this game... meaning I didn't have to pay for them again. Now that's awesome! I have had the game for almost a month now, and I have had no quality issues. The pedal still seems to be in very good condition, and the drum pads still seem responsive. I can only speak for the drums right now, because that's all I tend to play. I have purchased almost $100 of add-on songs at this point, and find it worth it since a lot of the songs are from my high school and college days, and takes me back to the "feels" of those days: No Doubt, Matchbox 20, Weezer, etc... I enjoyed playing through the career mode, and getting my own documentary ( a la VH1 - where are they now? ). I think the game is well worth the price, and will bring hours upon hours of fun. I am currently trying to get proficient at playing my favorite songs on "Hard Mode" and as I'm getting better... I'd like to eventually purchase a real drum kit because of this game. Inspirational to say the least.

Still fun!
I like the song selection and the fact that all of my songs from previous rock bands ported over nicely (RB1, 2, and 3). I play drums mainly and feel as though the drums aren't as responsive as they were in previous installments. Maybe I'm just getting older and can't play on expert like I use to, but sometimes the yellow and blue pads don't want to register a hit. Aside from that there are plenty of fun songs to choose from and it keeps me active! Seriously, drumming is a workout.

Poor Quality Hardware (Drums) with horrible customer service from PDP
I really hate this product due to it's poor hardware quality and really wish I had not purchased it as a gift for my wife for Christmas. The guitar functions fine electronically. However it is super terrible to use ergonomically. I play guitar, the plastic fender jaguar included with this kit is incredibly uncomfortable to use to play the game and is way more fatiguing/RSI inducing than playing real guitar! If they spent a little more money putting in nicer switches and made the plastic neck a little bigger like a real guitar it'd be a lot more comfortable. Granted even a semi-decent beginner real guitar costs more than this entire kit but they don't have to make it that good, just good enough to be comfortable. At least the guitar does not miss notes. It's cute they made it a Jaguar since it's very small and the Jaguar is a smaller electric guitar. My main complaint is the drums. One of our drums cracked in half Christmas day on the first song we played. It's a drum, it should be designed to be hit. Real drums have a wooden or metal surround. Everything on these is plastic. It's not so bad that it broke, although that was annoying. What is annoying is the horrible customer support. We are almost at 4 months and I still don't have a replacement from PDP. We do have the replacement now, but they said to send back the whole drum kit and then sent us only a replacement "top" part of the drums, so we now don't have a working drum set. In the time we had them the drums seemed way more problematic than the guitar, missing lots of notes despite repeated attempts to calibrate them. The microphone is actually the best part of this game. It works flawlessly as far as I can tell and in terms of realism it's probably more realistic than the drums and certainly way more realistic than the guitar. You might actually get better at singing from playing this game.In terms of the actual game, last time we played this was Guitar Hero II about 10 years ago. It feels like pretty much the same game as back then, we just didn't have the microphone or drums back then.edit: After 5 months of dealing with PDP the end state of my ticket was that I had 3 sets of Drum "tops", but no drum stand, drum legs, or kick pedal. We opened a ticket with Harmonix as well to try and get some assistance getting through to PDP (they essentially are unreachable by phone). Harmonix was completely unhelpful and closed the ticket almost immediately. In a last ditch effort we contacted Amazon. Amazingly, Amazon gave us a refund offer.
