Foxwing awning bracket arrived on time. I had to do some miner modification to make it work with my Yakima roof rack. U-bolts did not have enough threads. But it works and works great.

I'm using this bracket to mount the foxwing awning on Yakima round bars. HOWEVER, out of the box they will not fit Yakima round bars. The u-bolts are just a little too narrow to fit on the Yakima bars... I'm talking a millimeter or two (so close). I was able to make it fit by first bending the u-bolts open about a half inch... put it on my round bar. Next I put several nuts on each end to protect the threads and used channel locks to bend the ends of the u-bolt around the yakima round bar until it lined up with the bracket holes.Reason I prefer this bracket over the one specifically made for yakima round bars is that it lowers the overall height of the awning on the vehicle. This one puts the awning at nearly the same level as the round bars instead of on top of them... this allowed me better access to the rooftop tent I use on the other side of the awning. Be sure to take measurements if you decide to go this route as the bottom of the awning is now about 1 inch from the door of my truck.. but clears.
