3-Way dimmer smart switch without using an expensive "slave" switch.
The best four things about this very affordable smart dimmer are: First, it has the option of being set up as a 3-way switch with a dimmer, something many smart switch vendors do not offer. Second, you don't have to buy an expensive "slave" switch for your second location. Any Standard on/off switch will do. Third, it works with Alexa. Fourth and last, this switch not only matches the sleek looks and operation of my Gosund Smart dimmer switches, but the Gosund app will also control the switch! This is really helpful because Gosund doesn't offer a 3-way dimmer switch, and this switch solves that problem for me.This won't be the perfect 3-way solution for everyone, though. Because the "slave" switch in the 3-way setup is a simple on-off switch, the second location can't dim or brighten the lights, just turn them on and off. When you flip the slave switch toggle, the lights either come on at their last power/brightness setting, or they turn off. The other reason why this might not work for everyone is most on/off toggle switches (the classic light switch look, not the sleek Decora paddle switches) are usually marked on/off, and the dimmer only notices the switch position has changed. If the light is on and the toggle slave is in the down/off position, flipping it up/on will turn the light off, but if the light was off before flipping the switch, the light comes on.My suggestion: Get a smooth Decora-style paddle switch that doesn't have on/off markings. The installation instructions are pretty minimal, but installation is straightforward. The thing you really need to know before you start if you are using this switch in a "3-way" setup, is the second location's "slave" switch is NOT a traditional 3-way switch. It's just a regular on/off switch. The Android app for its switch is nothing fancy, but it's easy to set up and use, and integrating the switch with Alexa is very simple. Ditto for the Gosund app, which also works with this switch and was probably written by the same people.PROS:* Inexpensive.* Great choice for 3-way switch operations. All you need to add is a simple on/off switch at a second location.* Integrates with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.* Works with the app the vendor recommends as well as the Gosund app.Cons:* Poorly written instructions.* Slave switch cannot brighten or dim the lights.

Tricky to install, but looks great and works great
This was a bit tricky to install. It's has a thick profile and if you have a 3 or 4 gang switch box you're installing this into, you might have to trim some wires to make everything fit -- especially since the wires don't attach to the switch itself, they go to short wires going off of it.To an electrician this would have been much simpler, as well, but it was somewhat difficult to figure out the load vs traveler. I have 2 of them and one works perfectly, but the other I couldn't figure out a configuration to have it turn on the lights from both areas. Not a huge deal...Because the app and alexa integration were simple, seamless and took seconds. When I turn them on and off with the echo show you can even adjust the brightness from the screen itself with a touch or issue another command. It looks really nice on the wall, as well.

Dimmer switch worked for about 10 days
I installed the dimmer switch to control 4 recessed lights that were replaced with low wattage LED's. After installation the dimmer switch initially worked perfectly - sliding your finger up or down to increase or decrease brightness. The switch also paired with the Smart Life app as well as the Alexa app.The bad news is that after about 10 days, the dimmer switch no longer controls brightness - just on & off. The "touch panel" for increasing or decreasing brightness no longer works. I have tried resetting it as well as cycling off, then on the main power to the switch (via circuit breaker at main electrical box). I can still dim the lights via the app, but not from the switch itself. I spoke with support who suggested trying the two steps above. Unfortunately these have no solved the problem. Hopefully I'll get an exchange and will get the replacement working.

Read this if you're struggling with 3 way installation
The good first.. the switch is well built, tactile and intuitive. Overall, it does the job of a 3 way smart dimmer switch reasonably well. Here's why "reasonably well"1. The instruction leaflet included has three diagrams for the 3 way connection, and I have no idea what they were trying to say. It was useless.2. In my case, the typical 3 way connection steps for smart switches (as seen in most youtube videos) did not work. Most 3 way smart switches only need you to disconnect one of the switches and replace with the new smart switch. However in my case, I also needed to make a wiring change in the other "dumb" switch as well.3. The dimmer does not go down all the way. Maybe only to 50%4. The switch buzzes a bit if the brightness is set to anything less than 100%.Ok. So here is how I had to do my 3 way wiring:1. First in the smart switch recepticle, I had to connect the red "load" wire to the black wire going to either my mains or the bulb (I'm not sure which). Then I had to connect the black "line" wire to one of the traveler wires coming out of the wall. The blue traveler wire I connected to the other traveler wire coming out of the wall (see image).2. For the dumb switch, I had to short the black line and load wires and connect them to the black common screw (see the image that has a 3 gang in it) . I knew to do this because that's how the Lutron Sunnata touch dimmer switch that I own had to be connected.I tried many permutations of connecting the smart switch that did not require this shorting method, but nothing worked!Hope this helps someone else who is struggling with this as I did!
