The Omron HJ-325 Alvita Ultimate pedometer replaces the popular HJ-112. Featuring Omron's validated Tri-Axis 3D sensor system, the HJ-325 quietly and accurately tracks steps in your pocket, on your waist, or even in your purse or backpack. Accurate and Well-designed Pedometer
I've been using this pedometer for a few weeks now and could not be happier! I haven't used one in about a decade, and the ones I had before were not at all accurate. This one is extremely accurate; I know this because I do the major part of my daily walking over a known distance. I love that this pedometer tracks both total and aerobic steps as well as the total miles walked. I even like the little icon of a waving man that pops up when I hit 10K steps, LOL. The only thing I don't pay much attention to is "calories burned," as I tend to spend a lot of my non-aerobic steps lugging things or doing other hard work (this pedometer considers aerobic steps to be 60 steps over 60 seconds for ten or more minutes sustained). But overall, I am THRILLED with this little device.

Great Bang for the Buck, Accurate Performance. Pocket Rocket.
Those looking for an activity monitor need to keep a few things in mind:1. A wrist band will not count the steps taken on a treadmill, because your hand shall be stationary on the rails. A pocket device will count these steps.2. A wrist based device is likely to count any hand movements (pounding out emails, cooking, signing documents, Texting and calling on phone etc) as steps taken. A pocket monitor eliminates those "steps" and thus appears to be "less flattering" in terms of steps counted. It will also show a lesser count than phone based Pedometer Apps. Don't be demoralised. It is a MORE real count.3. The activity monitors are thus best worn close to the body or on the shoe to get accurate results.4. Ideal location for this or any other monitor are : a. Men : Shirt pocket, trouser pocket, clipped onto suit/shirt collar or belt b. Women : Clipped inside the bra with lanyard worn in neck. This device may appear to be a simple Pedometer but is extremely accurate due to its tri-axis sensor. It also gives you something that the other devices do not give you:1. A separate Aerobic Steps counter. These are those steps that have been taken at more than 60 steps a minute for a minimum of 10 minutes with less than a 1 minute break in between. Anybody into fitness training know the value of this as being the steps that effectively help burn fat, and the ones that you should be actually concerned with. Casually taken steps (to the loo, wash-basin, kitchen, elevator, car etc) have no MAJOR health benefits.2. A separate activity counter is included that has to be manually activated. This activity will not be added to the main step counter.3. It has all the standard counters - Kms travelled, KCals Burnt,Grams of weight lost etc.4. You have to input your height, weight, step length and gender as is standard. The other major advantage is that you are spared the ordeal of charging one more device. Simply replace the button cell every 6 months and you shall be ready to run.One less device to sync to your phone and drain its battery. One more plus. Has its own display with large digits. Easy for the 40+ generation. What I miss in this device : It does not show the period that you have been active for. A minimum of 60 minutes of active time is necessary per day. Time that is not spent sleeping or sitting. Thankfully my time is easily calculated by dividing the number of steps by 100. (Steps taken divided by Step frequency per minute) That gives me a minimum target of 6000 steps per day. This device is also NOT water resistant. It also tends to scratch / scuff easily. I keep it in a soft protective pouch in my pocket.Hope this consolidated data is of help to you folks. Keep walking. Stay Fit

PEDOMETER/STEP COUNTER Not responding to initial Setting operatins
Dear Sir,As already informed, PEDOMETER/STEP COUNTER supplied is not responding to initial SETTING operations. I had earlier also bought & used an Omron Pedometer and had no problem in setting the device as per the instructions given in the manual. But in this case, I even tried to avail the help of some mechanics dealing in MOBILE PHONES but they also expressed helplessness as device does not respond to setting instructions.I feel, it may be a defective device and may need resetting by the Company Service Center.Due to above situation, we are deprived of the services for which, we have invested.I hope you'll appreciate our problem and help by replacing this unit with a new one duly tested. In-fact it may also be got set for values as under:i)Distance in.....Km/Mii)Weight in.......KgsUser's Data:iii)Weight: 81Kgiv) Height...169Cms.Thanking you and with regards.SUBHASH SHARMA

Great product at a good price.
I have been using the product for a few weeks now. Its a very good product for the price at which I purchased it. Unlike wearables - the best part is - just put it in your pocked and forget about it for the day, no charging required, doesn't have to be worn on the wrist, and gives the basics of how much you have walked in a day (pretty accurately)... Recommend it highly.

Can't reset settings
My research showed that this was probably the best simple pedometer on the market. It works well except that I am not able to reset the settings (I had tested it with some dummy settings). Instructions say that this is a simple step: to long press two buttons together... But this doesn't work and now it's useless to me. I only realized this after the return window closed. Feeling a bit cheated as this is an important feature and surprised to see that it doesn't work!

Useful and easy to carry
Bought it to gift it to my grandfather, he is 80 plus and doesn't want to tie a band. Due to this pandemic situation, this came as a handy light weight for him to keep a check on his walking count at home. This gives an account of how much active he has been on the given day.
