A magical pillow... Finally!
In the past year, I realized that I was having back and neck pain due to my pillow. I'm in my late 20's, and have never had this problem before. I've gone thru a lot of pillows recently. I started out trying traditional pillows from target for side sleepers/back sleepers and just getting a new one every 2 months or so when it got too squished down for me.The last one I tried was the Homedics HMP-TRCL Temp-Rite 4 Lb. Density Classic Pillow, and I was really hoping it was "the one" -- I'm starting to feel like the goldilocks of pillows. It wasn't and my neck pain upon waking got worse. It was a great pillow until it squished down with body warmth and left you with no neck support. So..on to the next! I saw this water pillow as the #1 of the top 'popular' pillows recommended in an online news story. I was willing to give away my first born(ok, so I don't plan on having any kids, but I figured I could promise it despite that, right?) for a good nights sleep, so I ordered the mediflow water pillow. When it arrived -- I was like 'huh, this seems like a normal cheap pillow' with just the puffy fill, no feathers or anything. Then I started putting water in. The bottom of the pillow is the water pouch, where the entire top is the actual pillow. All in all, I wasn't overly impressed, but like I said before, I'll try anything. And yes, this sucker is heavy.Usually my first night with a new pillow is extremely uncomfortable, with this one, I actually slept thru the night. I did need to adjust the water a little, I had filled it to the brim, and took out just a cup or two. I think I'm in the firm category that they mention on the instructions. I also added the McKenzie® Cervical Roll Neck Support which I found here on Amazon. It adds to the firm neck support, which is just what I needed. Together, it's the perfect match for me.Now for the MAGIC: this week I've been waking up an hour or two earlier. And feeling...awake. not groggy and in pain. I think this might be the pillow. Because I'm sleeping soundly throughout the night, I reach my sleep limit earlier. I don't use an alarm clock, so I just get up whenever I naturally wake up(I work from home), which is usually 8:30. I've been waking up at 6:30 and then figuring I can squeeze in another hour, so I go back to sleep till 7:30.I'm so happy with this pillow right now, and for 35 bucks, it was definitely worth a shot!! If you're having neck and back pain, I know you're at the brink like I was. Don't bother promising your first born(or 2nd or 3rd) to anyone, just buy this pillow. =)

Best. Pillow. Ever
I bought this pillow on a whim at my kids' allergy doctor appointment. The office was shared with a chiropractor, and they were have a Christmas special: buy one, get one half off. The desk girls had personally not tried it, nor received any feedback on them. I took it home and tried the medium amount of water recommended. The next night, I tried the most water. The 3rd night the least. On the fourth night I added a little less than their recommended "minimum amount" and was SO SOLD on the product I went back to the doctor office and asked if they would sell me a 2nd at the half off deal. They did! Now I can roll over onto my husband's side of the bed and not get a crick in my neck.BEST INVESTMENT IN YEARS.I had been happy with a previous pillow but had washed it so many times I could not not read the label any more! Where did i buy it?? What brand was it?? I spent a stupid amount of money on over a dozen different types and thicknesses of pillows over the next 6 years and some would work for a short time before I would wake up with a sore neck that would last for DAYS with an accompanying headache.I, like other reviewers here, considered expensive diagnostic tests to figure out what was wrong with ME. Turns out it was just a pillow issue! I have had my pillow now for 6 years and just went on a trip to a humid area for 3 weeks and came back with mold on my pillow case- I shower at night and my hair was still damp in the mornings. I tried spraying the pillow with bleach, which helped but didn't remove the spots entirely. I had a spare in my closet (cuz I dread a possible night's sleep without one, should I ever need a replacement and find them all back ordered or something equally horrific!). I figured the washing machine was worth a shot- I could break out the spare replacement if I had to. The front loading washing machine tried for an hour to spin and drain the last 3 minutes of the cycle and I just finally gave up and let it finish air drying. Next morning I could see that it was a blob of pillow innards in a wad on one end of the case. Oh well! I pulled out the new replacement from the plastic bag in my closet and found that it had another name (panic! A quick check showed they were the same company though: previously "Floating Comfort" by Mediflow. Now just "Mediflow" was printed on the non-removable case), and it was WAY thicker-seeming than my wadded blob I was replacing. However, I now had no alternative (name any commercial, brand name, anchor store brand pillow and chances are I've tried it!) So I slept on it. All I can say is, I was unaware of my head/ neck while sleeping and I have been unaware of my head/ neck during the day all 3 days I have used it. Maybe my older version of the same pillow had just gotten compacted over the last few years of use? I don't know, but I'm coming on here to 1) buy my next replacement and 2) get the little case so maybe I can avoid the mold issue in the future. I literally take my pillow with me on all over night trips or else just anticipate a sore neck/ headache during my trip. Here were my initial concerns:1) I didn't want to have to replace water weekly/ daily/ monthly -but GOOD NEWS! It only has to be replaced once a year!2) I didn't want to have to go out and buy fancy water. The water where I live is very hard and even with a filter and softener system it destroys things in short order. But- I can just use water from the tap! No fancy distillation, filters or spring water required! Yay!Additionally, my daughter suddenly developed a sore neck when she turned 18. She was saving all her money up for college, but I told her she needed to spend some of her money on this pillow anyway. She finally broke down and bought it and was instantly glad that she did! So don't assume it's only for us 30-and 40-somethings (and beyond!) It can be beneficial for the younger crowd, too!I followed the directions- I have never had any issues with leaking, and the water level stays consistent until your yearly water swap!
