cool look, but where's the bass?
I recently bought several 20-watt speakers, the TaoTronicsBoom X speaker, the Anker one that's also 20 watts, and this one. Now, I love the look of this thing. It's a cylinder that lies on its side with most of the controls along the top, save for the power button which is on the left end. This is the coolest-looking of the three, since the others are a bit more on the rectangular and functional side. However, I gave it four stars because I expected more bass out of it than I got. The other speakers I've mentioned generate a lot of bass although not sure by what means. Granted, sometimes you don't always want the bass emphasized in your music so perhaps this speaker is the solution for that, and maybe it provides bass by a different means. Also, the stereo definition seems a bit squished together since I suppose they had to make room for the bass chamber at the right end of the thing. Sounds really just as good as the Magicbox II which only sports ten watts. Still quite a good speaker though, it's nice and solidly built, probably meant for use outdoors or in tougher environments. You do get a rubber flap that covers the charging and audio ports.

Deceptive Product Information Listed On Site
Received Speaker 2 days ago, rushed and skimmed over the Quick Start Guide included with the product. Was able to get it connected to my smart phone easily, and took it to work with me. The speaker sound quality was good, and volume was good at home in a fairly quiet environment. I did have problems not having quite enough volume for the noisy work environment that I purchased it for. The site said that, at fully charged, the battery life is 12 hrs, and the bluetooth range is 33 ft., which is the reason I opted to purchase this particular speaker at upwards of $30.00 more than some of the other portable wireless speakers. After receiving it, and fully reading the Quick Start Guide, it read, "IMPORTANT NOTE: After being fully charged, the Big Magicbox has a play time up to 10 hours depending on volume. (NOT 12 Hours). The play time varies for a number of reasons including the volume (for Maximum volume, it could be played around 5 hours), device, connection, and music type". It also says in the guide that Bluetooth range varies from 15-30ft depending on the Bluetooth driver and OS of the paired device. (NOT 33ft) .If that wasn't bad enough, I also discovered that the Play/Pause, Rewind, Previous Track, and Next Track buttons don't work at all, Bluetooth nor Aux. The guide said that the buttons would not work with Aux. The only buttons that work are On and Off, Volume Up, Volume Down, and the Answer Call button. However, there is a long echo when phone call feature is in use. Also, if you read the other reviews that are listed with this item, you will notice, as I did, that, even though they are listed as reviews for this product, none of the ones, that I read listed with this product., we're actually for this, (New Release), DKnight Big MagicBox Speaker. Same company, but for prior model speakers Those ratings and reviews, should not have been combined with the ratings and reviews, if there were any, for this, so called, (New Release) DKnight Big MagicBox. More deception!

The Good, The Bad & The Ugly..... [New Release] DKnight Big MagicBox Bluetooth 4.0 Portable Wireless speaker
The Good.....Great Volume, 3/4 volume fills a very large hard surfaced room, crisp & clear Mids & Highs......Love the size, Big Control Buttons, and that I can stand it on end.....The Speaker Held a long charge.....& charged correctly.....It was a keeper until it broke.....The Bad.......Thin on Bass, not at all what was suggested in the product description, and thus my expectations, so I was disappointed ......as noted in other reviews, use of an equalizer helps bring out more Bass.....but II you want a lot of Bass, look elsewhere.......my Big Magic Box distorted at full volume.....The Ugly....Worked almost perfectly for a week .. then ....Beeped when low on charge.....and would never re-charge completely....Charge light stays on constantly.....now lasts less than 3 hours on a charge at mid to 3/4 volume.....Now drops Bluetooth connection randomly, even a foot or less from source device.....Control buttons other than volume & on/off, no longer work when connected by Bluetooth..... Returning to Amazon....Conclusion....Other than the thin bass, which I could have lived with (using equalizers)....I really liked the speaker, the form factor, the sound quality (Mids & Highs) the amount of volume available....and overall external build quality....Currently the product is not available....So DKnight must be aware of the defective release....Hope DKnight gets the problems straightened out, as I would re-purchase in a heartbeat if all were good......Unfortunately....One Star for product reliability......
