perfect fit
needed a holder for my mobile phone for some night photography, i have a manfrotto tripod and geared head so this was the perfect match no problems with mount quality or functionality, it is tiny though, was able to fit my galaxy s25 ultra easily into it.very easy to use, simple and functional design and very stable in use no problems whatsoever.

Lightweight and sturdy
I recently picked up the Manfrotto MCPIXI Universal Smartphone Clamp, Pro Version, and I’m extremely impressed with its quality and functionality! The clamp is sturdy, well-designed, and provides a secure grip on my smartphone, ensuring it stays in place even during more dynamic shots. The build quality is top-notch, as expected from Manfrotto, and the material feels premium yet lightweight, making it easy to carry around in my bag. The Pro version offers an extra level of versatility with its adjustable features, allowing me to securely attach various smartphones, even with larger cases. I also love how it pairs perfectly with my tripod, making it a great option for mobile photography or videography. Whether I’m shooting videos, taking photos, or streaming, this clamp offers excellent support and stability. If you’re serious about mobile content creation, the Manfrotto MCPIXI Universal Smartphone Clamp is a must-have accessory. Highly recommend!

Firm grip, soft pads, locking position - but very stiff to open jaws and lock.
Pros:The unit is compact, solid and seemingly well-made (time will tell). The jaws are lined with deep, soft 'grippy' rubber inserts which mould to grip a phone edges securely. The moving arm that extends from the fixed arm has small serrations, which the locking 'clip' engages when locked down - so the jaws are fixed in place ensuring they can't widen, even a tiny bit, until the lock is released.Cons:1) The jaws are very strongly held together with a heavy-duty spring. I'm not weak, but it takes both my hands to open the jaws up to 9cm (3.5"). This is a bit of pain and certainly not a quick job. The upside is that the jaws to grab the phone, but I'd prefer a less string spring, especially as the jaws can be locked anyway.2) The locking 'clip' when 'snapped' down has a small 'tag' that catches a 'notch'. Once locked in place, pulling the clip back up to unlock needs a fair amount of force, and you can only really use your finger nail (unless you use something like a coin, etc.). I guess this is good in one way as it means it can't pop open if caught, but to me it seems too stiff to un-lock.Perhaps, over time the 'tag' and 'notch' will wear slightly and it'll become easier to unlock.Overall, if you're not adding/removing your phone regularly then this would be perfect. For me however, it's 4 stars as I'll be using my phone for other uses intermingled with tripod photography potentially many times an hour (i.e. hiking, using maps, and other maps). It's just that little too bulky to keep attached to your phone and at the same time put in and take out of a pocket regularly.

Great bit of gear to always have in your camera bag.
I am a videographer and have owned this mount for a few years. It is still working great and shows no sign of wear and tear. I do look after my gear and treat it with respect. It may be possible to force the locking lever or drop the mount with equipment mounted on/in it and break it, but I have had no issues and found it to be secure and sturdy. It fits all the phones I have owned, so it can cope with a good selection of sizes. It also doubles up as a very good adapter for mounting extra equipment on the tripod, due to the additional threaded screw mounts, or as a horse shoe to standard threaded mount adapter. This lets you easily mount mics and lights to cover changing conditions and requirements. It’s just a really useful, well made bit of kit that everyone should have in their camera bag. Not the cheapest, but you get what you pay for and this mount it worth the money.

Manfrotto - all good here
Purchased to use on a tripod or gimbal with an iPhone Xs Max and a Samsung S23 Ultra. The latter phone often is a problem for centrally mounted clamps as they often contact and depress the S23's power button. Not so in this case, as the Manfrotto jaws are nicely narrow. The clamp opens widely and even accommodates an optional case on the S23 Ultra. The device has a locking clamp and provides a very secure mounting for the camera. For landscape shots, the tripod bush at the end of the clamp is ideal. For portrait shots, the clamp needs to be mounted near the bottom of the camera in order to provide sufficient access to the bottom tripod bush. I guess a spigot might help if you wanted to mount the clamp halfway up the height of the camera, but the clamp is so strong that wobble with the clamp at the bottom of the camera is unlikely.I do like Manfrotto kit and even though this is made of plastic, it represents great design, functionality and value.

This is strong
I didn't realise how strong this is. It could be almost too strong in that it's a hell of a job to stretch the thing over the edges of your phone. As for locking it, of course you should but you'll understand if you purchase when I say if you forget to don't worry your phone isn't going anywhere. The spring is something else. Looks wise it blends in with my phone, S23 Ultra. There is a gap between its body and your phone screen which is good as you know it's not going to rub on it. This is ideal for my use as I plan to attach it to my PGY Stick and use for vlogging when walking outside. If I had one criticism is that the threaded parts that you would screw your selfie stick attachment in are not very deep at all. I don't understand why it's not deeper? My first attachment could not tighten up as the thread on that was longer. Luckily I had another which fits perfectly. Check the pics out.
